Christmas was good went to DG family and spend most of the day there, must say her mum does a lovely Xmas dinner!!!! Best I have had (no she is not here or reading this!). Boxing Day I had a soccer match and then went to other family of DG, me and my family do not get on!

Tinks - I am always complimenting the service given in the US so am surprised about your experience today. I have to say I complain about service all the time here, although I also tip for good service - which is rare over here!! Tipping is not a big thing here.

Now Xmas is over we are working out the nitty gritty of our holiday . . .
The one thing I am after if anyone has any is good website links/ shop ideas for Jewellery (see previous posts!) and Digital Camera Lenses . . .
Any help appreciated if you know of a good source!

Jon...Thanks I'd love to see a pic, but there is no hurry, this will be last post for a few days, and then I will update with some pics from WDW! We are taking the computer (Ithink), so I will post a few pics!

I am also surprised about the service, we eat this restaurant at least once a month, and never had this experience! Maybe she was having a bad day! Who knows!

I'm glad that your mini trip and Christmas were enjoyable! I will pick you up a few pins at WDW! Cant wait to be there, 6:15 am cant come soon enough! I guess we are scheduled for a snow storm tomorrow around 11 am, so we are just missing it!!! And we have the 1st flight out, so our plane will be there already! No waiting if the weather is bad around us! See ya all in 2008!!

I have to admit that was something that really stuck out to me on my trips over the pond- we went to some really nice restaurants, and the lack of service was pretty consistent! I can see why tipping is not a big thing there.....

Hi mom2princessk, me and my spouse, MIL and her husband, BIL and his wife, their 16 yo son and 10 yo daughter. We bought DVC this pass summer and took the Doubt Developer Points offer, we booked 3 cat. 11 staterooms and 4 nights 2-bedroom AKV. We are not wealthy people and big family trip like this would normally be impossible, I saw the oppotunity and took it. I hope everything will work out and everyone will enjoy the time together.

A little early in the day for this but i have to ring in the new year counting the year end inventory at work. So much fun if you ask me. it is almost time to start counting our time left in weeks and days instead of months and weeks. Cant wait. I even changed our flights to leave a day earlier, so we can get to the ship earlier in the day. lets hope for 80 and sunny the whole time, but anything above 40 will be a nice change from home, and shorts weather.

Anyway, holiday with my family is almost over and I am heading back to the freezing cold weather (Niagara Falls Canada) in 2 days. As must as I love visiting everyone it is a bit too crazy\crowded of a city for me. I think I need a vacation after this..... wait I am going on a vacation with the in laws in 5 weeks!

Miss talking to all of you! Just have been hectic....however, I did attempt to post yesterday..and realized on was on the Feb 7, 2009 cruise!!! DUH! So after this long winded post....had to start over here..THEN...after I finished here, my computer froze and lost my post again!! So, I said a bad word and decided I would come back today

We'll probably fly in from Baltimore to Tampa on 6 Feb and stay in Florida until 13 Feb.

Glad to see everyone else cruising.

Everything I've seen says you can still cruise without a passport. You can't fly in or out of Bahamas without a passport. A travel agent familiar with the cruises verified as well. I'll call Disney this week to verify.

So many things to plan! We look forward to all recommendations.

Some early questions:
1) We're leaning to not do Palo's due to short cruise. (comments?)
2) What should you do the first day to get familiar with the boat and get the kids comfortable with the boat and activities?

Hello DisneyBride! Yes we feel that taking the family on cruise and WDW with the DVC double points is a best way to start enjoying what DVC has to offer. Just this trip alone worth couple thousand dollars if we pay in cash.

Is it ture there will be a DVC meeting on the ship? We actually never met any DVC sales people or seen the model home. We got all our info from here on DISboards.com

Well we are well and truly already on our countdown!!!
Our flights out there are on 1st Feb so our holiday is less than a month away!!!!!!!

DB - Glad that the package arrived . . . perhaps after the cruise we will have to arrange for you to come visit . . . we can be your very own tourist guides!!(reasonable fees!)

Currently we are arranging the rest of our spending money, getting to and from the airport and our itinerary as we want to do so much!!!
Think we need to be there for about a month . . .

With getting together at AK after the cruise and the Pirates and Princesses party meet to arrange times for is there anything else I need to put on the itinerary!?!? lol

Welcome to our little group!! You will learn alot abt DCL here on these forums! We booked ours in Oct...and with the help of folks here and the PassPorter book...we are ready!!

We did get passports....although we did just receive a letter from DCL stating a certified copy of Birth Certificates will suffice....I believe its different if you are flying into the Bahamas. They did suggest obtaining a passport however.

We have a DS14, DD10 and a DD1 1/2!
We opted not to do Palo as its such a short cruise and are making this a family trip and we want to enjoy all of the other restaurants.
We also just cancelled a spa thing for DH and I...we do havee some nursery time for Ava....we do want to check out the adult pool, and areas etc. We are staying on the ship in Nassau...to enjoy the ship...and we are doing excursions at Castaway Cay....snorkeling, banana boat, bikes, floats...etc

Looks like you can get into your rooms abt 1 30 pm I think.. Check out the "personal Navigator" in your room for ALL the info about the ship/activities etc. You will get a new one each day to tell you what is happening!
Also there is a mandatory safety drill you must participate in before the ship sails.....then off to the Sail Away Party!! If you can get onboard earlier, that will give you time to navigate the ship a bit.

Not sure about a "meeting" but there is something...there is a DVC area somewhere....they have it on the Personal Navigators (info sheet) in your room! Cant believe you havent seen a model, no worries
We bought in at SSR, but we are staying in a 1 bdr Savanna view at AKV when we return from the cruise!
