I know this is a slower time, but was a little shocked to find out I couldn't get a room at one of the values for Friday, Feb. 6th. We will be in for WDW (WL) for a week and because of some logistical problems, we thought maybe we would book an additional night and leave on Saturday to make things easy for our family pick up person. Well I was surprised when I called today and understood that there was no room for ONE night (Feb. 6th) at Pop Century or any of the All Stars. First I tried for a Cast discount (nope), then any type of AP discount (nope), then rack rate (nope). So looks to me that that will be an extremely busy weekend. I guess because it's the last value rate weekend. Had to make alternative pick up at the airport plans and won't be staying that additional night. It got too complicated after that, and afterall, there's always my next trip on April 28th. Guess there's a big group coming to the All Stars that weekend??:earseek:

The Florida State Fair is going on that weekend and many counties have the day off from school. We're in Hillsborough (which includes Tampa) and we have the day off. Maybe there are a lot of Florida residents taking advantage of the kids' day off from school as well as the value season ending? We'll be at Universal that day, waiting to do Disney until Spring Break (March 22-26 in our county). It'll probably be busy there, too ... Oh, well!

Hi, we'll be at WDW Feb 4-10 and I believe there's some sort of cheerleading competition going on at that time. I tried to do a search but its disabled. I seem to remember someone saying that cheerleaders had reserved one of the All Star resorts (the whole thing) but I can't remember which one and the exact dates. Maybe someone else remembers? Also, does anyone know what time and where the compretitions are held?

Strange--I just got a Pop Century reservation for 2/6 today (AP discount). The 6th is the first day of my week there.

n2mm, I just went to disney.go.com. No matter how many ways I tried, I was not able to get PC or any Value to come up as available for the night of Feb 6, checking out on Feb 7 (one night).
When I put in that I wanted to stay at PC for three nights from Feb 6- Feb 9, however, I got offers for both standard and preferred views at PC.

I'm thinking that WDW is not allowing the single night to be booked, for whatever reason. I certainly don't understand it, but the room was available when I tried to book a 3 night stay.

my mom just made reservations at pop century during that time ..so that she could come and play with us while we are there....they guy said that there were rooms available ...so i wonder what the deal is......

Dandave that is interesting. I've never known them to do a minimum multi night stay before. I'll have to remember that next time I have a problem like this--not that I could stay longer than one more night, but could have the CM put in a longer stay, then try to shorten it. Oh well, it's done now. I made my airline reservation last night to come home now on the 6th instead of staying an additional night. I'm sure Disney will not be hurt by me not staying one more day and night. I tryed to check on line throughout the day yesterday but the site was a little screwy most of the day. My curiousity will cause me to go back now and put in a longer stay to see what happens. This might be something we all need to be aware of now, especially when we have to book an additional day before or after a stay because we can lengthen our original ressie. We are at the WL from 1/30-2/6, but there was not another night available at our rate to add on.

Cheerleaders will be at the value resorts and maybe one mod(CBR?) that weekend. It won't affect the parks much as they compete much of the time-someone posted their schedule somewhere on these boards.
You can almost always call WDW back hours or even days later and get a cancellation.:D I even get hard to get PS's this way. People cancel and change ALL the time-can tell that by reading these boards! ::yes::
