Feb 6 2010 7 Night Western

Hi IslandJen:

Just noticed you are from St Joe's, we're in North Bay and I travel to SSM with work a few times a year.

Welcome aboard.

John

Thanks John!
Have you done a disney cruise before? We are flying from Detroit. I'm just starting to check out the door decorating and think it would be fun to do.:yay: I think my DH may think I'm nuts.
Jen

Wow!
Thanks for doing the list love2driveinct:worship:

Hi There!
I had to chime in ....

Born and raised in SSM! Not too much there anymore, but St. Joes is beautiful. Thinking about going there this summer.:)

We too are on this cruise, with friends. 5 of us, 4 of them.
This will be our third Disney Cruise, and our friends first.
Can't wait!

I was able to get all of our booking too, but I had to book Palo as a table of 2, and another table of 2. Any chance they will seat us together? No tables of 4 were available for either brunch or dinner.
I actually had to book myself and my BF husband together, and MY husband and my BF together..( again , their first cruise, so I was able to book ahead of time..this was the only way). Hoping I don't have to line up in Rockn' Bar D to try to change it. I was hoping they could just sit us together the night of. Anyone have experience with this?

Son3disfan, what are the ages of the people in your group (especially kids)? What was your maiden name I grew up in the Sault too!

DH (Jay) and myself (Jenn) are also on this cruise.

Deposit paid and are now thinking about what to do.

Wow...small world! I moved away from the Sault over 22 years ago! I went to the Mount and graduated in 1988. Does that sound familiar at all?
We are a family of 5 ...
DH ( Mike ) and myself ( Sonya )
My boys are 13, 11, 9
This is our third Disney cruise.

Our friends are
Ken and Tammy
and they have 2 daughters
14 and 9.
This is their first Disney Cruise.

Hey there folks!
Just jumping in to say hi.
We are cruising for the second time - leaving daddy at home but bringing Grandma and my cousin Robin along with me and the boys.

Just finished booking our excursions as we had 2 cabins and Mom and Robin had to wait til 75 days...
Off to bed, now but may be too excited to sleep!
:dance3:

Can't wait to meet everyone.

Glad to have you all! See you in February!!!

If anyone wants to mention what their kiddos interests are -- hobbies, sports, etc -- I can add that to our list. My oldest daughter is very outgoing, but my other two children will probably look forward to the clubs more if they know about some of the kids that might be there.

Island Jen,

I noticed on another post that you were thinking about going to the Turtle Farm In Grand Caymen. My son (9)loves turtles and when he heard about this place, he really wants to go too. Trouble is, we already booked a wave runner tour in the morning. Until 1:00 pm .
So now I'm thinking, maybe I could take him after the wave runner tour. I don't know if I can do it on my own, or if we will have enough time.We probable won't get back from the tour until 1:30 or so. I was hoping if you have anymore info, as to how long a taxi ride/ van ride it will be, how expensive it will be etc. you could post here. (if you don't mind).
I am thinking it will be too rushed for us. My husband and older boys wanted to check out "The Black Pearl" skate park too. Just can't decide what to do.
I wish we docked earlier then 10:00am.

Hello everyone!

My husband and I (36 and 37) will be on this cruise. We're fully booked for everything - cruise, air, hotels and transport! :cool1: It's our first time on a cruise.

We will also be bringing children along, including our daughter who is 2 and our nieces who are 7 and 12. So far it looks like my nieces are in good company :)

Can't wait!!

Trudy

Oh, Trudy,

If this is your first cruise, you are going to LOVE it!! This is our 3rd Disney and we have never done any other. My husband and I even chose Disney when it will be just the two of us with no kids for our 10 year anniversary. I really cannot imagine going on another cruiseline unless I was going to Alaska, which Disney is doing in 2011. Not sure if it is permanent or not, but we cannot go at that time. If they go again or are permanent there ever, we would go on theirs.

Welcome aboard and I hope you have the time of your lives!!!

Shannon

I didn't get any info on how long the drive is but someone said that taxi is cheaper than van. Another person said that it cost them $10-$15 American per person to take a taxi there. One person mentioned that the park has a free shuttle but I haven't been able to confirm that and the times may not work for our cruise.

Are we at about 70 days now? I'm thinking the time is going to fly by because of the holidays. Yippee!

What are everyone's plans for before and after the cruise?

We are flying down the day before -- thought it was "safer", especially with February in New England. We're staying at the Residence Inn at CC, with no special plans for the arrival day.

After the cruise we are staying two nights at the Embassy Suites at the airport. Right now we're planning on heading to Downtown Disney after we get off the ship -- we did not get to go there on our trip to WDW last year, so we thought it would be a fun way to spend that day without wearing ourselves out too much.

Then the following day we are going to the Daytona 500. We actually changed our flights when we realized when the race was -- we don't figure we'll ever have the opportunity again and would regret not going. We are Nascar fans, but have never been to a race. The tickets have been purchased and they will be a Christmas present from my MIL to our family. That will be a surprise to the kids.

We told our kids about the vacation last weekend, couldn't hold it in any longer. They are VERY excited, of course. And now I can breathe a sigh of relief every time they come in the computer room and I am on the DISboards! :rotfl:

! :rotfl:

We are flying in early and staying the week at the Poly ( got one of those 40% off pins and couldn't resist!!! We have always wanted to stay here).
Our flight home leaves Orlando when we get off the cruise, at 5pm. So we , too, are probably going to rent a car and go to Downtown Disney too. Maybe a water park for a couple of hours if we are not too worn out!

How about everyone else?

Really needed this reminder about our escape, as one of the cat's is at vet having tooth pulled today and have to take my mom for a cardiac catherization on Wed. As you can imagine my stess level is at about 90 and am not feeling any holiday spirit right now. If appropriate, please pray!

I believe my countdown calendar hit 68 today. We are going down the night before, as we're flying from Indy. We're over getting up in the middle of the night to catch an early morning flight, so we'll arrive around 3pm. Take ME to AKL-Kidani Village (BFF's pick, NOT mine). Her aunt & uncle will drive over and we'll have supper at Cape May. (Yea - an excuse to shop at the Beach Club - my fave! :cheer2:)

Neither of us will probably even realize where we as, as I have a packed week at work with a big event the week leading up to the cruise & BFF will be on work travel to Iowa. It will be a miracle if we both remember to pack everything & get there in one piece! :sad2:

After the cruise we have a 2:40pm flight back to Indy, so we'll try to be leisurely off the ship (is that even possible?) and just hang out at MCO. We already added extra time, as this was only supposed to be a 4 night cruise. Luckily, I gave in and taught another class, which allowed us to upgrade to a 7 night. :thumbsup2 Hopefully, we'll start our pre-trip blog during New Years; I'll keep you posted!

No real extra time planned, as BFF has a work conference at Yacht Club in March & you can bet I'm tagging along!

Anyone remember when the busses leave the resorts for port? Last time I think our WL bus left around 10:30? 11? and then stopped at POR. Any ideas what we're in store for from AKL?

Thanks!
Gayle
