Feb 6 2010 7 Night Western

We are on early dining, so if all goes well with the safety drill and sail-away, we would love to meet up on Deck 10! I'm not going to stress about how we are dressed for that first night, since I've heard some people don't even have their bags by then so it's not a huge deal. But we'll probably want to leave ourselves a few minutes to run back to our room to freshen up... can't wait to meet everyone!

A little about us... we both grew up in New England (MA & CT) and met in college, have been married for 15 years. Hubby was active duty Marines and is now in the reserves and working a corporate job. I've been a stay-at-home mom since we had our first daughter in '98, and I love it. Life keeps us busy -- the kids are all involved in activities, we love to do fun things as a family and also with friends, and this year we finally got season tickets to the New England Patriots! We are also big Red Sox and UConn Husky fans. Never a dull moment around here... We also have a siberian husky who will be 15 in May -- she has some health issues, but is doing very well for her age. We lost our other dog last March, one month shy of 15... So that's us in a nutshell!

Hey, have you heard , no Golden Mickeys!I knew a new show was coming in March, But I thought the Golden Mickey's would stay until then.
For first time cruisers it was a great show, like the Golden globes/Oscars, the night of Formal night. Apparently it has been replaced by a couple of singers instead. And has been reported as quite boring.

Maybe Walle, Ben and Jamie can take their place.!
I'd much rather have a little humour then some singers.

Hey Guys! Since we are officially closing the FE I'll get a final listing posted. I know there was one family to add to the last list posted. Beyond that we should be all set to go! I hope everyone has lots of fun with it and don't stress! I think most of us have picked days to deliver and we'll all try to hit our days! But no biggie if not!

I think it will be great to meet everyone on Deck 10 after the party. We'll be up there anyways I am sure.

I am a bit disappointed about the Golden Mickey's. We have never gone to a show while onboard and there aren't a whole lot that I think we'll go to this time but I was thinking that was one I would like to try and catch. DH is not interested at all and DS was always so little before that we really just enjoyed being up on deck during that time.

Hey everyone....I went to disney today to get my nephew and his kids into the park...while I was there did a bit of shopping and found a cute princess dress for lil Avani for dinner one night....

we are getting excited to go!!!

I love seeing those cute little girls in their princess outfits. They seem to really love wearing them and really know they are little princesses. Is it a specific princess, like Cinderella?

I am way too excited, too. My husband just got some of his shorts and clothes out ready for me to put right next to mine. I thought I'd get them maybe next weekend, but he must be getting excited, too. He asked me, "Where are we staying at WDW," even though I have told him 100 times, lol! I told him at BCV's, and he said, "The one on the lake," I said, Yep, that's it." He got even more excited and maybe that is why I got his clothes this morning

I heard about No Golden Mickey's either I dont like the idea of the singing group. There is no way my son will sit thru them I was also hoping that Golden Mickey's would be there this one last time and its sad that it wont be. SIGH. Couldnt they have come up with something or someone better to take the place for now? I mean I think you guys are right about WallyB and Jamie taking the place...at least they are funny and entertaining I was kinda hoping for something more...SIGH I guess that is one show I might have to miss. And I love going to the shows (as does my son. Its the first time EVER and I do mean EVER that he sits quiety and watches something for any length of time. He even has a favorite show (Disney Dreams) cause he has a major crush on Ann Marie (yes he is only 4 and he loves her)

Well today I got my luggage all packed for the most part Now I have to finish up the FE gifts and pack them someplace My cousin thinks its too early to be packing her stuff So her mom is doing her packing for her Of course I will be up there with her for a week before the cruise which will be sometime next week I will be going up, so I had to pack earlier than her anyways...and I had to pack two sets of clothes (one for a week at my parents and one for the Cruise).

Hey I have a question. Do you think its over the top to have 1 large dufflebag (the one with wheels) for just two of us? I mean Its DS and myself. It feels way too heavy but I didnt honestly pack anything I wouldnt use...and I didnt pack but 4 pairs of pants for us each and then lots of shirts (cause DS is messy and loves to wipe his face on his shirt) And then just 2 dresses for me (one pair of shoes)and of course I brought our bathing suits just in case as well as a few other small things. The only things I packed that I may or may not need but cant leave here are meds and such.

I feel crazy that I have everything packed and almost all ready to go so early but I am usually running around with not so much time on my hands (with a 4 year old boy and a 1 year old puppy...ok so he is HUGE and not so much puppy looking) plus if my mom comes down with my sis Next week to pick me up...that will be more time spent someplace else. I am SO not a last minute packer

Well, I went through Sam's suticase and removed a couple of items. Having read about the cold spell though, I am little worried about weather now. I am not thinking we'll need much more than a light sweater, capri pants if it is cool - right?

Sam has a very small suitcase but I think I will move her a size up and pack our FE gifts in her suitcase. I only have to pick up stuff for the toddlers in the group now, which I'll do this week.

Well, one duffle bag is great! I think there is a 50 lb. limit, so just make sure it does not go over that.

Now, that comment about bring the swim suit "just in case" What is that about? I have three swim suits packed because I expect to be using them

I am bad, I guess, as I have 7 dresses, one for each night, and 5 or 6 capris, 1 pair of jeans, just in case , 3 shorts, 3 swim suits, a TON of shirts, I cannot even count, and I am bringing a pullover and a very light sweat suit thing, a couple of sweaters for over the dresses if it is cool. Husband is almost as bad, but I won't bore you with more details.

The shoes are waht is going to kill me. I am such a shoe person and hate to think that I cannot have a choice of what shoes I want to wear for a day or event, whatever. I absolutely would be crazy to bring all my shoes or even half of them So, I have to decide ahead of time what I think I might want to wear. I guess if they do not match, who cares, I am not at work, I am on VACATION!!!!

Thank you Firefamily for inviting me to this meet. Looks like a fun group of cruisers! I'm cruising for the first time alone with my DH (without our DS11) and this is my 3rd Western on the Magic. I'm not interested in participating with FE. My first post was an inquiry on Super Bowl parties onboard. (Sorry, can't figure out how to post the link). Hope we have warm and sunny weather!

The Swimsuit in case was a comment since I am full blooded Floridian and not at all used to cold (well that's a half truth, I actually love cold weather) but not used to swimming when its cold out. I'm sure it will be much warmer than it was a couple weeks ago and I might even break out my bathing suit to use it

Yea I was trying to get final FE count as well so that I can get them all packed to go as well. I have my stuff packed for the week at my parents house...just have to pack the cruise stuff into the large duffle bag. I have it all layed out in a laundry basket, just have to load it all in. I might do that tomorrow

Well Im TIRED we took Chris (my son who is 4) to the circus today...it was fun but I am exhausted. I didnt sleep well last night Maybe i will be so tired that I will sleep great tonight

Avani is a small one year old and the smallest princess dress I found was a 2 which would be way big. The dress I found says disney princess and has lots of pink tulle. I need to try it on her.

Thanks so much for the FE list, Now I can print up my lables and make sure I have everything sorted and ready to go. To make packing easier I will probably pack them in my carry on and assemble the bags when i get on board ..Yes they will be in gift type bags cause I went over board with the gifts and I dont think they will all fit into everyone or anyones Fish Extender so I have gift bags that I will hang on the fishes for everyone
