Question of the Day: Friday, January 20

Will you be keeping your regularly scheduled programming? Are you going to rise early to take advantage of all that the ship offers? Will you be sleeping in because, after all, what is a vaca for? Will you rise as your usual circadian rhythm dictates?

We'll probably get up earlier than DD wants to, but later than our work schedule usually dictates. Since I often work from home, DD likes to sleep from 11PMish till 11 AMish. Since she has always been such a good sleeper in terms of quantity, I didn't want to make her sleep earlier in the evening. Every time we tried to "fix" her sleep schedule, it resulted in her waking up multiple times per night. However, I don't want her to miss out on too much fun. We'll still let her sleep in later than most toddlers, but she'll definitely be up well before 11 AM during the cruise.

My DH will be sleeping in.... till 7am that is. He regularly is out the door between 6am-6:30 daily, so he'll get more rest. But kiddos wake up by 7 everyday no matter how late or early they go to bed, that is the time we'll be up most likely, but will take our time getting ready for the day. :)

Fish Extender participants, how are you preparing? Are you a crafter or a buyer?

I'm a little bit of both. I'd like to gift to each person, and there is no way I have time to craft 40+ items. Some of my items have been crafted, some have been purchased.

I'm still shopping for crafting supplies. Hoping to finish up this weekend. Looking forward to meeting all of you and checking out your fish extenders!

I just realized you can purchase or make your fish extender as well. We purchased ours, but I sent gradysmommy fabric that I picked out. She has shipped it. I think it is arriving this week. Can't wait to see it!

50/50, some made and some bought. :)

Question of the Day: Thursday, January 19

How are you preparing for the cruise? Weight loss? mani/pedi? hair cut? laser hair removal? hollywood worth plastic surgery? a little bit of botox and filler? building up your alcohol tolerance? nothing at all?

Dh will probably get himself a fresh haircut. He swears he looks 10 pounds heavier when he's shaggy (I think he might be right). I'm going to get CND gel nail lacquar. Seriously ladies, it is so much better than the OPI gels. You can soak the CNDs off after a quick buff, the OPI gels are no better than acrylics. I have naturally strong nails to begin with. I don't want to destroy them in the process. I simply want a mani/pedi that is going to be chip-free for the entire cruise. I just can't decide if I should go with a neutral or a vintage cherry red. DD will probably insist on a mani/pedi as well. Ha ha, but hers won't come with all the fixings. She'll just get a bit of polish. I may take her for a haircut depending on how much she looks like Eloise as we near embarkation day.

Me and DD will do a mani/pedi (thinking red too!) :) My DH and DS will be get haircuts :)

Our problem will be keeping DS7 to sleep in some! He has always been an early riser. So I'm lucky to keep him down until 8-8:30am. He usually wakes before 7 (ugh). I expect I'll see some early mornings, willing or not!

With late dinner we may be almost normal. Girls like to stay up late, so do I. I hate sleeping in during expensive vacations though, so will try to keep that to a minimum.

QotD: We will most likely stick to a fairly normal schedule in the mornings, up and moving by 8.
However, our night time will change!! :thumbsup2 For us, the adult cabarets are not to miss!! We enjoy the entertainment Disney provides, and wont make it to bed early! Show, dinner, evening entertainment!!! We have a Pirate party, midnight dessert buffet, Match your Mate, the list goes on and on!! One of my favorite times on the ship!

I think we will just take it as it comes. Dont want to miss any fun on the ship but dont want to be woken by the alarm as we are on vacation after all.

That's GOOD to know! :thumbsup2 Totally something I could do!! :cool1:

Yeah, it's actually pretty good. I didn't do great today. Ate 2 donuts for dinner. AHAHAHAHHAHA. But they were SO worth it!

WWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! :woohoo: :yay:  :cool1: :cheer2:

QOTD... Usually when we cruise it's on the east coast, so it always seems like we're "sleeping" in, when we get up at 11, really 8 am our time. So I'm hoping we get to see more this time, since it's on our time. Probably wake up like 8 ish, stay up till midnight... Other days later, and we'll probably take a nap every single day. Because I'm sleep deprived, and I sleep like a baby on the ship...it rocks you back and forth.

:scared1:  :scared1:  :scared1:

But I'll still have my iPod with Angry Birds right?

Yes, I will miss my Internet to keep up on what's happening. The hardest will be evening/mornings when I'm used to checking things on email/news/FB. Hopefully I'll be too pooped from partying to notice. :dance3:

Maybe we should plan a internet withdrawl party..... :surfweb:

Internet withdrawal party.... I like that!

Question of the Day: Saturday, January 21

Are you looking forward to any shopping in Mexico?

I'm definitely going to try to get my hands on some vanilla beans. I've also been on Chow Hound looking up recommended brands of Mexican vanilla extract. I may also purchase some Mexican Coca Cola in the glass bottles if it is ridiculously cheap. There's also some coconut candy or cookie that I saw on someone's TR that I'm going to attempt to track down. Ha ha, most likely food products will be purchased.

I want to get vanilla extract too, let the board know what you find that is good. Do you know if there are food/bev. restrictions bringing stuff back on board, or back through customs?

i'll look through my notes this week. it looks like neither will be a problem with the cruise line and customs, but don't carryon more than 3.5 oz if you're flying. since we're driving home, i don't anticipate any problems.

QotD: Well, I know that I am the BIG TIME oddball here. . . . I hate shopping!! I'm not into shoes, I dont like to spend money, NOTHING EVER fits me, and I just get frustrated when I shop. I dont even care to go grocery shopping. However, I would prefer to do that then any other kind of shopping. SO, no, I wont be doing any shopping while in Mexico. Sorry girls, I know, I just lost my "girl card"!!
