Feb 4, 2007 Wonder cruise

I was speaking with a friend last night who had been on the cruise a few years ago. She said her forum friends had gone to Home Depot and had gotten a neon green paint Disney card/swatch with the Disney Ears. They put the cards on their clothing or their carry on luggage. Either this or something similar might work if anyone is interested

Here's us on last year's trip:

It's 26 degrees and snowing here today...Castaway Cay sure sounds nice right about now! :beach:

Disney swatches sound like a quick and easy idea. I live near Home Depot so that is super easy for me. Need to comeup with a place and time. This is our first Disney cruise so we will be wondering around for a while. We arrive early on day one hoping to board around 11am.

Today in NJ is mild and rainy.

I already have laminated my alien green Mickey paint chips from Home depot and put one on my backpack and one on my camera bag!

We would have taken that extra 13 degrees yesterday in CO. I don't think it got above 13 and it snowed most of the day. We've been checking the forecast for Orlando (since we are doing land/sea) and it has been 80! The next 2 1/2 weeks can't go fast enough.

Well...while everyone else is freezing our family spent the day at the beach. It was a beautiful 80 degrees with a nice breeze. I hope it stays like that for the cruise. We are from Tampa

I think having a time and place would be awesome. I know that my kids are excited about finding out who is going to be on the ship.

Add us to the list of Dis passengers on this one. There are 3 of us this time. Me, DH & my Mom (her first cruise of any kind!) We are in stateroom 6072. We will be at the Poly precruise. It's getting close and I'm getting excited!

Does anyone have any ideas about excursions at Nassau? We are back and forth between just doing a self-guided walking tour with the kids and enjoying the boat while everyone is at shore or booking something light and easy since the kids are young. We did book daycare for 5-7p so we can go walk around by ourselves for awhile.

Any ideas for young kids would be appreciated.

I picked-up the green swatches today. I start packing next week.

Plus, we got an upgrade on our room. WHOPPIE!!!!!!!

:yay:  :cool1: :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2: :goodvibes

We are going to see about getting a dayroom in Atlantis. I think that you can only get a dayroom the day you arrive if there is availabilty and I really don't want to book a regular room before we leave in case in rains. If the weather is not good I would rather stay on the boat. I would like to go to the aquarium with the kids but I will see what happens. We have no plans to book excursions for this cruise.

How do you get a dayroom at Atlantis? We too were not going to book any excursions but I would be interested in a dayroom.

You can just go over to Atlantis on the day we arrive and ask them if they have any day rooms available. I believe that the comfort suites across the street you can do the same thing. It all depends on how booked the hotel is. If you get a dayroom at either hotels you will also get wrist bands that will let you into the dig, aquarium, pools, beaches and waterslides.

Do you have any idea how much it costs?

No I'm not sure. I had called for a price of regular room and it was almost $300 (That was overnight, although we would not be in the room over night) so I am assuming it should be under $200.00. AT the Comfort Suites I hear it is much cheaper and you get the wristband. I think I am going to just wing it the day we arrive.

I have always seen lots of info on these dayrooms on the cruisecritic website in the Destinations section under The Bahamas. I was on there looking for Dolphin Encounter info and people are always talking about these dayrooms.

I booked a room at the Atlantis after being directed there from a deal on Travelzoo.com and got a rate of 159 or 169. I'm not sure if the rate is still available. We have 5 in the family and you can only get 4 wristbands, so i'm going to have to pay for an extra one I guess ( or leave someone on board....only kidding)The comfort suites was 189.00 for a regular room when I checked.Much less than the rate on the cruise ship

OK... for all of you who have been on the wonder before. Where would be a good place to meet? And what time is everyone getting to the port. I'm hoping to be at the port by 10am, is this a good time or should we plan earlier? We are getting so excited. I'm planning on pulling out summer clothes this weekand.

I have no idea what time we will be at the port. Hopefully by noon.

They won't let us in until 10 or 10:30 anyway. We'll be there around then too, only b/c I want to try and pay for an upgrade. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't get there until closer to noon. Hope that helps ;)

Just remember that there are additional fees which are energy fees, housekeeping fees, etc. I just called them to ask them how much the fees add up to and they said its an extra $10 per person and something about 12% tax. Did they mention anything to you about this? I saw on Travelzoo.com it says:
Terms/Conditions:
Rate is per room per night, based on double occupancy and effective for travel on specified dates through 2/14/07 in Beach Tower Terrace category. Rate is valid for new bookings only and must be booked by 1/21/07. Coral and Royal Towers are also available at normal RACK Rates. Travelzoo Beach Tower special rack rate must be paid in full at time of booking. All rates and availability are subject to change without notice and is based on limited availability. Not applicable to groups & restrictions apply. Mandatory hotel taxes, mandatory housekeeping gratuities and service fees are additional and must be paid at the hotel upon check out. Atlantis and its tour operator do not assume responsibility for errors or omissions within the content of this ad.

Atlantis gave me a rate for a dayroom of $390.00:scared1: That did not include the extra fees. I asked them if they charge the extra fees for a dayroom and they said I was speaking to the corporate office and I could have to call Atlantis directly which I plan on doing on my lunch break. I have heard people getting a much cheaper rate when they arrive for a dayroom. My concern is all the added fees.
