Nice job! Another thing to consider adding would be how many of us are repeat cruisers...so we don't have to go to the trouble of reading a whopping four pages of posts! :rotfl:

WHAT?! You mean you want me to read back through ALL FOUR pages of this thread to get that info?!?!? :faint:

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Well, I would do it, but I'm more of an idea guy... ;)

(This is post #999 for me, so I really have to make the next one count)

CONGRATULATIONS party: in advance, on your 1000th post!!! :surfweb:

And now you've really done it, now we're onto the FIFTH PAGE! :teeth:

What's everyone planning for a shore excursion? We went to the Dolphin Encounter last year and it was wonderful. We're still undecided for this year, and we've discussed just staying on board in Nassau. Some shore excursion ideas for this year are Ardastra Gardens, Atlantis, and Stingray City. Has anyone tried those or have any recommendations?

We are giong to the dolphin encounter at blue lagoon on our first part of the cruise to let our (now) 7 year old to do it. She could not on our first trip because she was not old enough then.

On this second trip we probably wont do much in Nassau, probably just go by the stores a little.....

I think we're considering the following:

Caribbean Queen Snorkel Tour

or

Atlantis Beach Day

or

???

Can you tell we're undecided?? LOL

If any of you have cruised at this time of year before, how cold is the water?? I'm considering a snorkeling excursion but I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to cold water :cold:

I know that many people have said that it was too cold for them to swim at Castaway Cay in the winter months, so I'm wondering if I should just plan on a sightseeing tour instead of a snorkeling tour, while we're at Nassau. Any ideas on this?? :confused3

We were in Nassau / CC on the 23rd & 24th of January this year. Both days were very warm, beautiful, and sunny. However, the water at the Dolphin Encounter was absolutely freeeeeeeezing (brrr!). DW and I managed ok, but the DDs had their teeth chattering and were pretty uncomfortable by the end of the short time in the water. On the plus side, CC was perfect. The water was very warm and pleasant. :sunny: We spent time at Serenity Bay and at the main beach. The kids didn't want to get out of the water, snorkeling was a blast, and it was really great. Our experience in Nassau does have us considering some non-water excursions though. Snorkeling or a stingray excursion would be wonderful, but if the weather and water temperatures don't cooperate that day... :sad2:

On our last 4-day, we wandered the shopping district in Nassau for a bit, but DS wanted to be back on the ship in time for an animation demonstration with the Oceaneer's Lab, so we were back on the ship in time for lunch. Probably wouldn't bother with the shopping district again.

This time, we are planning (weather permitting) to spend some time on a beach and are looking at the various options: cabbage beach, cable beach, western esplanade...

Super Goof: That's exactly what I'm thinking; if it's too cold to snorkel or swim comfortably, I won't want to get in the water, and I'll also regret that I didn't book a non-water excursion.

It's encouraging to hear that the water at CC was warm enough to swim, though! :sunny: No matter what else we do, we'll have our snorkel gear with us and will snorkel from the beach at CC.

Jrsy Boy: What excursions are available at the locations you mentioned??

The beaches? No excursions, just sand and sun (hopefully). We're just trying to figure out which beach to park our butts on for a few hours or maybe a good part of the day if the weather & water temps cooperate.

OIC :)

We will be on the Wonder the same time as our last cruise Feb 4-11, 2006 and we did the Eastern. I think that we had great weather and CC was a beautiful day. My daughter and son (at the time of last cruise where 2 & 5) where in the water the entire time. The day we got home to NJ we had a blizzard. It was crazy and sad to think that the day before we where in our bathing suites at CC. I love going in Feb because of the fact that we are getting away from the cold winter weather! Here is a picture of my kids the day after we got home from our cruise in Feb this year.

Your children are adorable :goodvibes

We're looking forward to taking a winter cruise for the first time, for the same reason you mentioned; getting away from the cold and snow!! :cold:

Thank You! My kids are so excited and keep asking when we are leaving for the Disney Cruise. I keep telling them after Santa comes. (What I am going to tell them from Dec 26th-Feb 2nd?) We have been so busy since the kids started school and our weeks are now flying by. Hopefully we will be on the Wonder before we know it!! ;)

Wow, I almost missed today's countdown!! :hourglass
