Ok, for everyone with young children and have cruised before what should I do regarding a stroller? My children are 2 years 9 months and 5 years old. Do I need to bring a stroller on the ship???? Any advice would be greatly appreciated since this will be our first cruise with the children. I thought about just bringing an umbrella stroller for my 2 year old. When we go to Disney every year we bring the double stroller but I just can't imagine having to lug that thing on the ship and having it take up space in our room.

We brought our double stroller last year when dd2 was only 1 1/2, and it was really a pain for storage purposes. We haven't decided what we'll do this year, though. If anything, I'll probably just bring a single stroller and my 5 year old can deal with a little extra exercise. princess: We like the double mainly for crowd control, so the kids don't get trampled.

One more question for today - then I think I'm done until tomorrow anyway... :)

Are any of you guys making a magnetic door sign that so many other Diser's refer to? I was thinking about it if I have time in the next 37 days!! But it's not high on the priority list. Then again, I don't want my kids to ask why we don't have one if all of their new friends do...

We make them, and I love them, especially since I can never find my cabin.

Last year, we were on the Magic right after Hurricane Jeanne, and I redid all of the signs at the last minute to read "Hurricane Jeanne Magic-al Mystery Tour" since we had no idea where we'd be going. Good thing I made several, though, because they were stolen every day. Our steward thought perhaps they were too fitting not to be taken as souven-ears.

I have 2 door signs done now. I just need to find a graphic for a large lime green mickey head.

Anyone have one that I can use?

Anything specific? I have a million, since I'm a Disney geek and a scrapbooker. :) Just let me know the approximate size and character/theme.

You use sheets like this:

http://www.magnetsource.com/Solutions_Pages/printmagpop.html

in your printer. Create a sign, basically, with whatever you want on it, and then print it on the magnetic sheet. Then the sheet sticks to your cabin door.

People do lots of different signs, some with their names (I prefer NOT to use our names on our door), some with the cruise date and whatever they are celebrating, and almost all with cool Disney clipart. :) You can also go to Home Depot and "sample" the different colored Mickey paint heads and use them for the sign.

Oh, sorry -- gotcha! I thought you wanted a graphic for inside the mickey head! :earboy2:

Here's one -- if you can't erase the writing, let me know and I'll do it on my paint program at home:

Also, here is a template for mickey heads -- just print it on lime green paper (go to any scrapbook store and they'll have it for 35 to 50 cents a page) and then cut out:

Hey it is so great to see that everyone is so excited about the cruise! I was amazed at all the postings that are up for this cruise and how long you guys have been talking. I feel like the new kid on the block. Anyway this is mine and my husband's first cruise although we have been to WDW many times. This was actually a suprise graduation gift for my college graduation. Yea I finally finished my bachelors in Nursing Science :teacher: ! Since so many of you obviously have kids I was wondering if there are any lone couples on board or if we are going to be trampled by kids, just kidding. Looking forward to seeing you all in the sun and getting out of a fridgid Alaskan winter :cold: .

Hi Disney AK Cup! Welcome! Greetings from not-so-far WA!

You won't be the only person without kids -- this time I'm going with my best friend Kat -- we're dumping the husbands and kids and going together...LOL. This will be the second time we've done it. I've sailed solo once, twice w/DH and DS, and now it will be twice w/Kat. In December I'm going on the 10-night w/DH and DS again. DCL is addictive.

Congratulations on your Nursing degree!

What seating are you in? I would love to link reservations for dinner with a DISer, rather than take a chance on a random table assignments. So far I've always been lucky, but still...We have late seating.

Welcome to our cruise family!

We were going to try to get the back room at Palo, but I don't think we ever agreed on a date. I have the name and fax # of the inventory control person we need to talk to, but if we're going to find out about the private room, she needs to know how many of us there are, what date, and what time. My Palo Brunch resie is for Mon. @ 10:30, but I'm flexible. Is anyone still interested in finding out about a group brunch?

:earboy2: Hey Dee it would be great to link up with you guys for dinner but as we are new to this we don't know how to link the seatings? Any help would be appreciated.

What about group brunch on Thurs? I think we don't have anything else going on (spa, etc.) but need to check with Mark for sure. And if Katie can't get into OC, we'll have to get Flounder's ressies and I don't know if they are available then. But I'd love to do group brunch - I've heard so many great things about their brunch.

We're a group of 5 - any other groups of 5 at early seating who want to link up and sit together for dinners? I think we need to make a table of 10 for even numbers. That's what they did last year.

Or we could take our chances with non-Diser's who would CLEARLY not be as much fun. :rotfl:

What time is everyone's dining?? Main or Late? We have the late seating and I am on a waiting list for the main seating. Is it possible for all of us to be grouped together at tables or is that impossible??? I see that some of you already have your table # How do you get that information??? I guess if I am on a waiting list it doesn't really matter right now because hopefully they will be able to change our seating time. I hope all of you have a great New Year and I am looking forward to meeting everyone!!!!

I'm definitely up for a group brunch, but we don't have brunch ressies yet -- just dinner.

I LOVE Palo bruch -- even more than Palo dinner. I almost cried with joy when I saw the shrimp and cheese table.

Mmmmm, Palo brunch:

We have early seating, but have no idea what our table number is -- I'm not sure how to find that out, either.

I also don't know about grouping -- it would be really nice for all of us to be in one area, though, so that even if we weren't at the same table, we'd be within shouting distance.

We've always had solo tables on DCL -- never with anyone else. But on the last cruise, we were next to a table of 6 with 2 kids, and our kids had a blast with that table. It made the waits in between courses a lot less painful for the kids, too.
