We need to add jblb1020 - DW(Jeanette), DH (Brian), DS(Logan 5) and DD (Kelsey 2.5).

Anyone else out there that's not on our list?? I'm now trying to memorize who belongs to who! :wave2:

If you want more detail, you can add my dh, Greg.

Thanks!

Marcy

Hi, Everyone

Wow, we've got quite a list going already...it's so nice to have friends made in advance.

Just a caveat to the person who was thinking of opting out of the sailaway party...it's been one of the highlights of all our cruises. I think maybe it is the feeling that the cruise is actually and ceremonially getting under way after all the (years?) months and weeks of anticipation. On our first cruise, when we had no idea what it would be like, after the countdown and the ship's horn blasting "When You Wish..." the singers broke into "Walkin' on Sunshine" and this huge swath of sunlight broke through the clouds and stayed bright for us the entire trip. It was our first look at all the characters and we allowed ourselves to get completely wired up by the music and energetic (albeit screechy) announcer. If you didn't know better, you would swear Disney found a way to orchestrate the atmosphere in the sky as well as the atmosphere on the ship. Just sets the tone for the whole cruise, in our experience. Of course, your mileage may vary. Going a bit early will usually ensure you a good place to watch.

We booked our very first DCL shore excursion for this cruise (on all others we've gone on excursions on our own). After reading Disboards and doing some other research, we decided we wouldn't enjoy St. John's as much if we were worried about what we'd do if we couldn't get back in time. We're doing the St. John's Trunk Bay Beach and Snorkel Tour. We're renting a car in St. Maartin the day before, as DH wants to go to Maho Beach and have the planes land on his head. The cars are really cheap ($45) if you book in advance.

It's getting close enough now to drop the tuxedo off at the dry cleaner and root around for the bow tie and my long black gloves!

Hope everyone else is enjoying this wonderful build-up to paradise!

PS We'll be at the 3:15 meeting!

Can you tell I'm bored? Supposed to be working at editing stuff, but Disboarding instead.

We're staying the night before the cruise at Coronado Springs and the two nights afterwards at Wilderness Lodge...got a super deal with the Annual Pass for one and AAA for the other.

Favorite pre-cruise moment: Driving to Port Canaveral, coming up the bridge, and seeing the ship for the first time and realizing the cruise is actually going to happen! Sort of like the first view of Cinderella Castle at WDW each visit or the swampy smell of the main terminal trams when you first land at MCO.

Not long now!

I assume that you are not coming in the day before! Do you want to have your DD chat with my DD using either email or a monitored chat session? I can download AOL or Yahoo chat if you'd like to do that.....

Snicklefrytz Care to have your DD do the same with my DD (10)??

Sbatty my DS Dan (8) would like to have friends before he gets there, and your DD is the same age as his sister Melanie (6)

Billinaz - where are you staying the night before? We're at the Radisson for Thurs and Fri nights. DS (Ryan) is looking forward to the pools!

At the Hampton Inn... using points so its free, we also will have an Avis rental that we will be returning in the morning and taking the shuttle to the port @ 10ish.

We will be sitting on that semi circular couch by the mickey ears entrance.

We'll try to meet you there. Mark is returning our rental car (Budget) after dropping us off at the port. If we don't see you in the terminal, then 2:30 at the Mickey pool it is.

Still too long to wait... :(

I'm sure she'd love to, but she's in kindergarten and is still an early reader -- she definitely would not be able to chat online without a parent doing the typing and reading. Well, unless you'd want to see this on the chat screen:

Mommy
cat
hat
pat
that
dog
dad
love
hop
pop

Should we have some way of easily identifying ourselves in case we want to chat at the port? We're planning on being there early (we need Palo bruch ressies and plan to use my sprinting abilities to get them), so my guess is that some of us will be waiting in the port together.

Or maybe I'm just getting too excited . . .

What time do they actually let you on the ship??? I heard 1pm. When I made reservations at the Wilderness Lodge they told me that the bus will be at the lodge to pick us up at 12:15. That seems late to me.

Usually about 11:30 ish.

You usually cannot get to your room until about 1PM but you can get something to eat and use the pool or walk around the ship......

I already have our PALO ressies and have the kids registered for the clubs.. and have the excursions reserved. OK, so Im a compulsive planner......

We should be easy to spot... the 2 exhausted parents with 3 kids sitting on that couch by the entrance to the mickey ears!

We'll be wearing white t-shirts with the design that Dee created. Mark will drop us off btw. 10-10:30 and then return the rental car. Hopefully he won't be far behind us.

Can't wait to go shopping next week or after New Year's (mega-sales!!) for my "formal" attire. :cheer2:

We are going to Parrot Cay to get something to eat right after we board. They may try to steer you to up to the top deck, but we prefer PC and they will let you thru.

Oh yeah -- I like to be the first one stuffing my face full of shrimp off of the buffet.

Mmmmmm, a week of buffet shrimp and lox for breakfast every day . . .

We have dinner reservations, but the brunch ones filled up before we got there. I have slots for the kids, too, but since dd2 isn't quite 3, we need to do some begging when we get on the ship!

Ha! You and a thousand other passengers! :goodvibes

My duaghter will be three in March and my son is 5. Do you think it will be hard getting girls into the club???? She is potty trained, and I really wanted to keep her with my son. I'm starting to get worried.

I sure hope not.

It depends, I think, on how crowded the ship is -- if they reached maximum Club capacity, then we're in trouble!
