FEB 3, 2008 ABROAD DISNEY WONDER--Who else??

In retrospect, I am proud of the part I played in iliciting "heels" as our 1000th post. What could be more important before a cruise than a discussion of how many and what kind of shoes we should bring?



For the record, I wore said heels only once; they hurt my feet and DS said they didn't look good on me. What does he know. I think they look great.

Now I got'a let the cat out'a the bag; DS & I had a close encounter with a couple of Krewe members at Castaway Cay: While walking across the beach, Aaron and I were stoped by two lovely ladies lounging in the sun. One says to me, "Sir, could you take our picture?" Well, there's Steph and her sister holding out a camera to me. She obviously didn't recognize me (we had only met briefly at the meet), and I didn't want to embarase her, so I quietly took the pic of them, and moved on without saying anything. How'd the picture turn out anyway, Steph?

I'm going to post a couple of replies, then sign off for now. We took a 6am out of Orlando, and I'm beat.

OMG, how embarrasing! Well, we had way too many Pina coladas, margaritas & Konk Koolers that afternoon. I thought you looked familiar damn, and I called you Sir? well, at least I still had my good manners.

Hey Shawn!! Glad you are back and had a good time.

I actually found spending for us on the boat was not bad. The kids each had $100 disney gift card and they didn't even spend them all. It not like WDW with a gift shop at every turn and Mickey bars and popcorn for sale. We do tend to overspend in the parks.

I would like to do a chat if others are interested. Relive some of our vacation.

I also wish we would have got together more. I was not sure how much I could plan with the kids, but they loved the kids clubs. We could have got together on a few nights. They (my kids) are already planning the next cruise. Guess I better start saving money.

I finally finished our trip report!!! I don't have all the pictures in yet, still need to scan the ones we bought plus the ones from the water camera. PLUS I still have video to upload. I have done alot from school while the kids are napping...but we can't do video. Most those sites are blocked. THE NERVE!

I wish now that our nights were better spent. Our days went well but the nights were kinda boring. We found we would have had time for lots of meets after the shows. We just ended up checking Carsyn out of club and going to bed. YAWN

There is a name for the post cruise dizziness and vertigo. It's called "Mal de Debarquement Syndrome". Some people suffer from it months after their cruise. Last year it took me two weeks to recover from our 7-day cruise.

Welcome home everybody! I can't believe it has only been a week since our cruise ended. It seems like forever ago. We had a great time! I think we will wait a couple of years before we cruise again. I think Mason was just a little too young. He didn't want to go to the clubs unless Sierra's group was doing the same activity and that really didn't happen that often. We ended up spending a lot of quality time with him, Sierra always wanted to be in the clubs. We had fun but I was really looking forward to more couple time.

I also had the dizziness for about 3 days after I got off the ship. I discovered that I am really getting too old to feel drunk for 3 days straight!!

Great start to your trip report Tara. I can't wait to hear what you did on the final 3 days. It seemed like we were constantly running into each other the first day and then never saw each other after that- except at dinner.

Time to start planning my next vacations. I need to go visit my brother in San Francisco this summer. Then hopefully the disney rates will be out for next Feb and I can start planning that- we are going back to the World next year.

It was really great meeting you all. The magnets and goodies each night really added some extra magic to the trip. When we got home the kids decided the all needed to go on our fridge. I told them they wouldn't all fit so of course they had to prove me wrong.

Tonya I agree that it seems like forever since we go off of the boat. It went by too fast!! We are also planning our next vacation. We are going to South Dakota in June to take the kids to see Mt. Rushmore (family vacation- renting a house that sleeps 20 and driving 24 hours- looking now to see what else to see along the way). I am really ready to start planning our WDW Mardi Gras vacation. Mardi Gras is on Feb 24 next year. As mush as we enjoyed the cruise I still feel like we didn't get enough of the world. I am waiting to be able to book disney. Can't remember when Feb usually opens.

Our magnets are on our back door. We have lots of stuff on the fridge and I don't think they would have fit. Of course we couldn't move Jenna's dress up princess magnets.

I am jealous! We were standing on the front of the ship when they played it the second time and the wind was howling too much. I just so happened to be recording and got it...but you can't hear it unless you know what you are looking for.
