Feb 28, 2010 - 4 night Wonder Cruise

Will anyone in my family do some Disney Karoake with me? Sister? :flower3: Maybe one of my 3 teenage nephews on board will be brave. DH already said NO WAY!:snooty:

Yeah, I've ALWAYS wanted to do that! Can't sing a note, but I've ALWAYS been a sucker for Disney tunes!!!! Start practicing your Supercalifragilisticexpialidotious!!! I know all the words!:cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::dance3:

I've already guilted the boys that they have to do this, to appease Aunt Tricia!:rotfl::rolleyes1

Oooh, Disney Karaoke sounds FUN! My 3 y/o son does a mean Hannah Montana -- LOL!

We officially head towards Florida in 10 (as in tomorrow we'll be in single digits) days! Woo Hoo!!!

Tammy-I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does the "two weeks from now we'll be doing _____" I think my poor husband is about ready to go nuts!

Soooo....two weeks from now, we'll be getting ready to eat!

Late dining here, anyone else?

We have late dining now, but are waitlisted for first. Now that we've had some time to think about it, I think the late dining might actually be better, so we'll see.

BTW, I see you're from the UP. I grew up in the lower peninsula -- if we meet on the boat I'll show you the freckle on my hand right where my hometown is!

We have had seven snow days so far this year -- back to school for the kiddos tomorrow. I think this vacation is going to be extra sweet with the cold Winter we've been having.

Diane

Disney Karaoke?!!?!! We LOVE to karaoke!!!! Do you only get to sing Disney songs?:cool1:
I think it's just Disney songs, but this is my first cruise so I really don't know!
Anyone experienced DCL cruisers who can answer?

On another note to PoohJen...Yay for Supercalifrajolisticexpealidocious! I know most of the words but will have to brush up on some of the verses. Otherwise it's the Tigger song for me!!! Or perhaps the opening tune from Beauty & the Beast, but that one is very long!

As Josh will be fresh from his high school's performance of Beauty and the Beast, you will have to do your best to get him to do a song from there! At least he can't say he doesn't know the words!Tell him No Excuses!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I will have to show you both the spot on my thumb that I grew up in.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

We have the early seating. My kids would never make it to the later one.

Late dining here, anyone else?

We have late dining, but we got on the waitlist for early dining back in October. I hope we get bumped because I really don't think DS is going to make it. I know a lot of people sing the praises of late dining, but really - he's 3. He doesn't nap. He's not going to make it given he's usually in the bed by 8. If we tried to keep him up we'd have one bratty child on our hands. We'd be the ones leaving the dining room carrying him out kicking from exhaustion and us mumbling, "Excuse us, excuse us" with our heads bowed in humiliation.

We have late seating. I do hope our kids last long enough to make it through dinner. We shall see.

I Pin Trading big on the cruise?

It's not that 'big', but there is pin trading and worth bringing your lanyard! They sell DCL and Castaway Cay pins that you can only buy on board/at CC.:thumbsup2 There should be at least one Officer's Pin Trading night in the main atrium, where crew members trade from their lanyards. You can also trade with the CMs in the shops on board. :thumbsup2 On our Magic cruise last August, there were sales and trading poolside.

I'll be wearing my lanyard with all my DCL pins on Embarkation Day!:cool1::cheer2:

We have early, I don't think my toddler could take the late seating. She's usually in bed by 8:30. I can't wait for the food!!! Weve decided were all getting our own appetizer:cool1: Usually when we go out to eat the appetizer is gone in 2.3 seconds!!

That happened to us once last year. DS had already eaten some of his dinner so DH took him to the kids club upstairs and we ate in peace :) You won`t be alone, that`s the beauty of a Disney cruise.

Completed our online check in yesterday. Now time to wash some new clothes and finish packing.:goodvibes

That's the great thing about the cruise - everyone can order as much as they want and we don't have to pay extra for it :lovestruc my DD's are looking forward to having soda with dinner - I'm too cheap to pay $2.50 each for a soda when we go out to dinner or $7-8 for an appetizer or dessert.

I'm counting the days til we can have our fill of mickey ice cream bars :mickeybar those alone make will make me happy.

Late dining here, anyone else?

We have late dining, which we also had in 2008 (DD was only 6 at the time). Even though they were able to offer us early dining a few times, we didn't take it because we loved our table mates so much! :grouphug:

Disney sure knows how to match up families! We've remained in touch and have visited each others' homes 4 times since our cruise! :thumbsup2

We are assigned late dining but are going to try to switch when we board. I have acid reflux so early would definitely be better. ::yes::

Tomorrow is the Single Digit Dance, baby!!!:thumbsup2

We'll be doing some heavy duty prepping and packing this week-end. :woohoo:

Back with more questions...

How dressed up do the kids get for dinner? My 7 year old son only owns shorts and sweat pants and he is a very hard size to fit. Could I get away with shorts and polo shirt for him? My 5 year old daughter is a total tomboy and won't wear anything except boy clothes - any suggestions?

When my boys were 7 they wore khaki shorts and polos to dinner and looked very cute. Perhaps your daughter would be comfortable in khakis or similar and a polo or cute top.;)
