Hi, I am new to the board so please be gentle. :-)

My name is Maria and I will be on the cruise with

DH Marty
Son Kyle (age 7)
Daughter Nicole (AKA Nikki) (age 5).

This is our first cruise ever but we are longtime Disney fanatics.

:welcome:Welcome Maria! :cheer2:

Be careful! You will soon be longtime DIS fanatics as well! (yikes! just look at my post count!) And...cruising DCL can be addictive too!:cloud9:

I hope you are excited about the cruise, and that you and your family will have a WONDERful time!!! :woohoo::yay::cool1:

AND...Happy Birthday Mabelworld!!!:bday:party:

LOL; me too...even worse, i've printed off menus, and every day at work I say "two weeks from now, I'll be eating in Triton's, etc" and hand them my menu with my selections circled!:rotfl::rotfl2:

I don't know why everyone at work seems so bitter.:confused3:rolleyes1:laughing:

I should do that so I already know what to order, I imagine it's going to be hard with all the good food to choose from. :cool1:

:surfweb: OK, someone needs to just put me on the ship right now, I am so ready to be there! I keep coming back to the boards today with really no purpose. I'm sure I must have at least ONE more question to throw out there :confused3

Currently I have 2 things on my mind regarding the cruise.
1. Will DD3 get her hair braided (I was just showing her pics of some girls with the braids and she's interested, so I'm stressing over if she'll sit through it and if she will lose 'clumps of hair' when she takes them out)

2. Will anyone in my family do some Disney Karoake with me? Sister? :flower3: Maybe one of my 3 teenage nephews on board will be brave. DH already said NO WAY!:snooty:

Brenna had her hair braided when she was about 5 - she sat still, but she did cry, it hurts when they pull, but its over quickly - just plan on distracting her - ice cream works wonders ;) When you take it out, just follow their instructions and use a ton of conditioner to work the braids out. She will lose some hair, but I don't recall it being that bad, but my DD's have thick hair.

I already told my family we are doing the Disney Karoake - Brenna said she "might" do it with me - I wanna sing like "The Little Mermaid"

We plan to be there.. I think I replied before a few pages back.

After reading other posts re: the braiding - I decided it wasn't worth it - there's a 50/50 chance it will be a good experience and I don't like the idea of hair loss on a 7-year old. I'll just braid it myself, if need be, unless she really wants it.

Anyone else done the online check in? I'm working on it now but it won't let me past "flight information" and we're going back to WDW so there is no flight info.

the page says you don't have to enter that info if you're not flying but won't let me proceed to cruise contract without it.

Hi all! I haven't been here in so long! We are getting very excited about our cruise! Only 11 more nights, as my children say! I have most of our clothes selected and folded, but I need to iron a few shirts yet. I also have most of our FE things done.

I guess I don't have much to say, do I?!?! Just getting excited, and needed to tell someone here that would "get it"!

Have a good evening!

You have unleashed a monster. I have tons of questions. Let me start with one on my husband's behalf:

Can we bring our own beer on the ship and if so, what is the best way to bring it? I read that we can't have it in our luggage but I think I also read that we can't bring coolers.

You can bring your own water and pop (Diet Pepsi and Dr Pepper fans here!) but I don't think you can bring any alcoholic drinks.

I don't experience with bringing beer on board, but I know that I have read that people do - you must hand carry it, or use a rolling cooler, suitcase or duffle bag, but you can't have it on ice and the cooler/bag has to fit through the xray machine.

I plan on bringing bottled water, but we will just carry it in the plastic grocery bag.

I was fretting about this yesterday. I bought a 12-pack at the grocery store ($3!). That darn thing is HEAVY! I need to figure out how to either put wheels on it or how to work the magic of levitation before then. Sucks to be DH, because he'll have to carry it if he doesn't let me pile it all into his carry-on bag.

ETA I lied. It's a 24-pack. Duhhhhhh.

Did you get past?

I got stuck on one of the screens, and it was a matter of leaving it alone and going back the next day to start from scratch.

Re: beverages

We always bring our soft-sided rolling cooler, with drinks (beer, wine coolers) inside, but no ice.

We have also brought a case of water, and I know last time we did that the porter who took our luggage, took the water too!:thumbsup2 We didn't ask, he offered and that was that. There have been ridiculous debates about this on the main cruise board as to whether or not they are allowed to take the water, but if the porter says 'want me to take that' I say go for it! In fact, if not for the debate thread, I never would have suspected it was an issue!

Anyhoo...back to the beer, etc. We find we are always so stuffed all week from all the food/desserts, that we never drink the alcohol we bring! I may just bring a bottle of wine for DMom on our cruise next week, and maybe a wine cooler or two for me if I can stay awake late enough to venture out to the adult clubs (i've read you can walk in with your own drink)! What the heck...after 4 cruises, maybe I should just splurge for once for a drink!:cool1:
