Feb 28, 2010 - 4 night Wonder Cruise

Wow, sounds like everyone's having the same kind of day that we're having! I *think* we're back on track now.

Hope noone gets any more suprises and everyone has "smooth sailing" (insert groan!) getting to the ship!

I am getting dizzy. I took off today (Thursrday) to pack, clean house and nap in preperation for leaving after the kids get out of school and driving through the night (in parks friday and Sat). Then, my boss cancelled my day off due to a mandatory 3 day meeting (I was still allowed to get off at noon but I work an hour away so, that's 1:00) We got ahead of schehdule in the meetings so today became less important and I was given my day off again.

Forecasters calling for another major storm so DH tells me we are leaving a day early, hurry up and pack, then storm misses us so don't worry, we'll leave on schedule, then storm back on so leave today at 1:00.

I was up until 3:00 preparing for an emergency departure and DD got me up at 5:00. I need a nap!

Looks like the weather in WDW on Sat isn't very promising - chilly and rainy.

Drive Safely to everyone that is heading down early. It is cold here right now, but it's sunny and isn't snowing:thumbsup2

I just checked the weather ....and it sucks:sad2: But it's better than our temp of 32 here. I was hoping it was going to be little warmer and NOT raining. Hopefully it will change for the better , I don't like to freeze when I swim . I'll be praying everyone makes it safe and sound to Florida :)

DH took tomorrow off so we can get our ducks in a row. His job isn't crazy enough to call him in, but they'll email him all day (and call him when he doesn't respond to the emails). :headache:

LOL; yup, that's EXACTLY why I cruise for vacation! Pack my blackberry away in the suitcase under the bed...no emails all week!:thumbsup2

Has anyone printed out stateroom mickey ears? I am on my 4th attempt and still can't get it right. I have clicked the printable view link from the Dis thread and selected scaled printing 100% I don't think that they are big enough. Any suggestions from anyone?

2:20 AM - We are 4 miles from rte 4. Expecting to be at DW at 3:30. Kids asleep in back seat. A little chilly out but not snowing or raining.

update - we're here! But if we check in before 7:AM, we have to pay 4 a full night. We are sleeping in parking lot.

Sorry Angie no help here - I tried printing them and couldn't get it right either - I didn't want to waste anymore ink.

Panic mode has set it - this snowstorm here in the Northeast is driving me crazy

We are to fly out tomorrow from BWI - Southwest has cancelled their AM flights today - they seem to cancel very quickly - all the other carriers are leaving :confused3

Not sure what to do - should we throw the kids in the car late afternoon and drive and get there by tomorrow morning or wait til tomorrow morning, then drive if we have to - my stomach is in knots - I don't want to drive if I don't have too, but I don't want to sit in Baltimore if I can be in Orlando :confused3

Its going to be a VERY long day :scared1:

We're not leaving until tomorrow AM from BUF but it seems the storm is enough east it won't bother us.

Good luck :)

We're leaving Erie late this afternoon. Weather stinks but we're on a mission. Looks like another "Gary and Gail's Excellent adventure!!! We hope the drive to Parksburg, WV doesn't take too long but we're going to play it safe.

Tammy. my fingers are crossed for you and everybody else caught up in the weather. We survived the drive but I am hoping you don't have to do it.

We arrived at 4AM after driving all night and I am sitting in Tomorrowland as I write this. Looking foreward to an afternoon nap.

For all you sports fans out there... since we had nothing else to do at 5Am, DH went to the Mike & Mike show.

I hope you don't encounter too much snow - have a safe trip - see you on Sunday!!!

WOW! We ended up leaving Thursday after the kids were done school. We made it to Clarksburg PA around 11:30 which is probably 1.5 hours slower than normal. Most of the driving was through a good amount of snowfall, with a good chunk of that being off and on whiteouts. It was a true adventure. I'm sure glad I put on those snow tires!

We left the Motel at 7am to try to get ahead of the rest of the storm, didn't work! More snow, most seemed to be as bad as the night before and didnt clear up until we passed Big Walker! I know this is a little more detail than warranted but we are hugley releived!

We are now in Titusville, safe and sound at the Ramada, seems decent enough, it was the only hotel that we found around that had 2 nights available because we got down here a day earlier than planned.

How has everyone elses travel plans from the Great White North worked out so far?

Was the storm as bad as the weather prognosticators predicted?

Glad to hear that you made it safe and sound - sounds like it was a adventure - they were saying on the news last night how bad the snow was in Western PA, MD and West VA.

We left Harrisburg yesterday and drove to Baltimore - luckily the snow had stopped and the winds subsided. Southwest cancelled their AM flights, but the later afternoon flights left.

We are at the hotel now, and the airport website shows all flights taking off on time this morning. Keeping my fingers crossed - we leave at 11am.

Safe travels to those leaving today and tomorrow. See everyone onboard tomorrow. The weather forecast is for sun and 65 degrees - should be nice.

Magic Kingdom - here we come!!!

Good Morning Everyone, I'm so sorry to hear about all the snow. My DH and I are leaving Atlanta (driving) this AM and I'm soooooooooooooooooo excited.

Our prayers have been that everyone will have safe and uneventful trips to the ship. I don't envy you folks traveling with small children. I've done that by myself before and it has the potential to be "hairy".

We are looking forward to the trip and hearing the stories of how everyone got to the there.

Blessings to all,
Martha and Amos in Atlanta

We were lucky; we left the GTA last Saturday and missed all of it. We drove to Buffalo and flew direct to Orlando without incident. Not sure if we'll be able to dig our van out when we get back :confused3 but we're not going to think about that right now! We're just enjoying our last day at Disney World and are planning to drive to the port as early as we can tomorrow morning. Can't wait to meet everyone on the ship or in the terminal!!! :cool1: Hope everyone has a safe trip!

Hey Daisy14, I guess the kids know about the cruise now???

We spilled the beans last night after we got to our Hotel in Titusville. The kids were so upset that we drove by the turnoff to Orlando. We did have the perfect cover story and they even bought what I told them! Lol.
