Feb. 26, 2012 Mexican Riviera

I have some gift ideas ready for the FE exchange, yes! But, since there is only a small group of us, I guess we can give more than we usually would! So, I'll probably come up with a few other gift ideas to give to everyone too! Super excited!

If you haven't joined our FE yet, PLEASE consider doing so, it's going to be so much fun!

Yes, we are very exicted too!!!

I was thinking the same thing about giving more than usual as well.:cheer2:

We just made our deposit tonight...super excited to be sailing with Disney again. We're thinking of creative ways to tell our kids that we are going - maybe we'll have Mickey call them. :)

It appears much of the remaining space has sold fairly quickly with the free kids promo. I'm sure it will be very busy.

Off to post on the FE thread...

Welcome!!!!
Its going to be a great cruise!

Happy Halloween everyone!!:wizard:

So how full/empty do you think this cruise is going to be. There doesnt seem to be very many of us on the disboards.

We were on it last year and it was busy but still great! Looking forward to it again this year!

Just booked on Monday as my best friend and her family is going so we are going too. This will be our 6th cruise. We fly in Saturday and will stay at Double Tree. We are staying at GCH after the cruise as points were much cheaper..

Welcome!! We also are staying at the GCH for 2 days after the cruise.

We're starting to get really excited! After debating it for months we've decided to go ahead and join in on the FE, I'll add our info to it after I get sneaky and ask the kiddos what their favorite characters are. Anyone else starting to ? I think we're at 102 days at this point. Weeee

(side note:I managed to post this on the wrong meet thread the first time, oops!)

Starting to get excited isnt the word for it. We have been excited since we booked this cruise, which was only about a month or two ago. :cheer2:

How many children do you have and what are their ages?

Need Help!!!

This is our first cruise and in Maxico ports... anyone have any suggestion since we are all girls? Or if any family would be so kind to let us tag along would be even better....

Thank you in advance for any suggestions... :goodvibes

What kind of things do you like? We did the cruise this past February and did the beach/pool getaway in PV and loved it. In CSL we did the harbor tour. We'd originally planned to do another resort excursion in CSL, but one of our kids had a reaction to something in the water of the pool at the PV resort. (Don't worry about it, she's allergic to something that some places use in their pools. Most pools don't affect her, but that one did. Nobody else had any trouble.)

Anyway, what kinds of things are you looking to do?

And :welcome: to the boards!

We will be staying the night before the cruise at the Grand Californian with our friends that are cruising with us. I'm worried the kids are going to notice D-land right there and want to go. :scared1: Can anyone give us some hints on what to do that day? We land at LAX around 1pm so we'll have the late afternoon-bedtime free. We were thinking DTD, wander thru the shops and check stuff out and then I've seen in a few places that there is somewhere at the hotel where you can see the D-land fireworks from so maybe we'll try that.

Oh and we're surprising the kids with the cruise for Christmas. I'm going to print out a picture of the characters in their mexican clothing on the ship and make it into a puzzle and have them put it together. Hopefully that will be enough for them to guess. If not I'll have a box for each boy with a pair of sunglasses, a "warm weather" outfit, some pesos, and a magnet for the stateroom door. That ought to do it. I'll arrange for Mickey to make a call that night too. And I'll be making a countdown calendar for them. :goodvibes They're going to be so shocked. They've mentioned wanting to go again and I keep telling them it costs so much money we'll probably have to save up until they're about 10 (3 years) before we can afford to go again. :rolleyes1

Hi Kirbo,

We were thinking of site seeing (beach is nice)... Harbor tour sound good... Thanks for suggestion... do I need to book it in advance? Where would I book the Harbor tour...? I am so clueless at this point. I think I still have time to do some research...

Thank you again...

When we sailed last year we had Clayton as our cruise director. Does anyone know where is Clayton currently ?

Went shopping for FE gifts. Got a whole bunch of neat stuff for the kiddies!!!:banana: Now I just need to sit down and put it them all together.

We booked the Harbor Tour at the excursions desk. The desk folks were great. We had had something else booked and needed to change it to something else. The Harbor Tour was available and she put us into that one. You can either book it online once you hit your booking window or you can try to book it when you get on the boat. I am also sure that you can just hire a tour when you hit land. It's probably cheaper that way as well. We chose to do all excursions through Disney, but if you do them privately they cost less.

Ninety days! :yay:

I completed our online check in and got our reservations for Palo and booked Las Caletas for Puerto Vallarta. I was surprised that we got the Palo reservations. Last time they weren't available to us online and we had to wait until we boarded the ship to get them. We are having brunch on our second sea day and dinner on Pirate Night :woohoo:.:woohoo:

And we picked 11am for our port arrival time!

I'm getting so excited!

ETA This will be our first dinner at Palo's! We only did brunch the first time (loved it) but didn't want to miss any of the scheduled dinners. This time we felt comfortable skipping Pirate Night's dinner. I can't wait to try the chocolate cake that everyone talks about. It wasn't an option during our brunch.

Just booked our Palo reservations too. We're doing Tuesday night. We've not eaten there before but keep reading so many wonderful reviews on Disboards, we have to try it this time. I was surprised we got reservations there too! There seem to be quite a few options open!
And that chocolate lava cake sounds delish right now! :)
:thumbsup2
