Feb. 24, 2011, 3 night Disney Dreams, Roll Call

I'm at the Country Inn and Suites in Cape Canaveral this morning and I have to say that I am sooooo jealous of everybody in the lobby getting ready to go on their Disney Cruise. I'm ready to book another! Anybody planning to book onboard?

Yes I have been telling the wife all about dummy dates and a 7 day cruise. lol

Looked at the Alaska kids sail free in May/June but the flights are almost as much as the cruise.

The 7 night is amazing!! That has been my favorite vacation yet. I was only able to afford to go when they had the kids sail free during the summer of 09. I'm hoping to book the Dream for October or December at a decent rate. The rapid price increases are scaring me. I can't find any 3 nights for the rate I got for this one and I booked this fairly late.

DSis's are planning to book for next June and Aug., DMom is planning to book for next Aug. and DH and I are booking for Dec. 15th, 2011.

I can definitely see why Disney has added the arrival times to the online check in process. I just left the terminal and I'm in shock by the line. First time was around 11am. The line in the terminal at security didn't appear to be that long but there was a long line at the drop off area where they check ID. Went back around 2:30 and the line at security was ridiculously long. I was under the impression that you could just walk right in by that time. Maybe I just happened upon a time right after a couple of Disney transpo drop offs or maybe this is what we have to expect with a ship that sails 4000? :confused3 I wish I knew the magic arrival time.

Having sailed on the Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas there are alot of people EVERY time you board the ship. Even though they had four access points to the ship at ports you still had to wait in line to re-board if you were unlucky enough to return within an hour of departure time. But it is a beautiful ship and not crowded on board much like the reviews of the Dream.

That's good to hear. I'm sure come Feb 24th, waiting won't bother me a bit. I'm just glad to be sailing! :cool1:

Hmmmm wonder if I should recheck-in???? Would it really make a difference???:confused3

OK checked all our reservations and our check in is still complete. Never got a question about what time we'd be arriving to the port though :confused3

Us either... :upsidedow

weloveheidi- sending warm thoughts your way so you make it. Definitely don't want you to miss your first DCL cruise!:boat:

Awww. thanks, Eeyore's#1Fan!
Can't wait till we're all on the beach! :beach:

Oh! Our FE gifts all came today - I think I may have gone a wee bit overboard... Is there a way to know if the adults in a given cabin are women or men (different gifts)? Maybe, at the meet-up, we can have people write their names down (if they want to), next to their room numbers & online-user-names?

GAH! I love the whole FE idea, and giving cute little tchochkes... The crazy number of door magnets... This anticipation is SO MUCH FUN!

This is me right about now: :jumping1:

That's a good idea! I think we (DSis and I) have some of the info. already but we will definitely have a space for it on the sheets at the meet. This way you all don't have to worry about printing them out. You can just pick it up from the meet. For those not coming to the meet and want to find out # of men/women, girl/boy, call room 2518.

I do have some of that information, only missing real names...DSis is right, we will print out copies for everyone for on the boat and I will make sure there is a place for real names. I will send out another FE list with the sex of all the adults. The children are already done with their ages by DD or DS. I will have W for women and M for men. If anyone needs real names ahead of time please PM and I will work at getting everyones True Identities:rotfl:, its not a problem. I have enjoyed putting this together for everyone and I hope yall really enjoy it, I know the children will.:rotfl:

Please look out for an email.:surfweb: Just in case anyones info was messed up (I have a bad habit of working at like 1 or 2am:sad2:) this list is the final and complete list and has all correct and updated information. 16 cabins total and 25 kids.

I cant wait for the meet...really excited about the number of kids we have going and how they are all around the same ages.
Again the meet is 3pm on deck 3 @ Bon Voyage. ( n Our back up time based off the drill is 4pm, same location!):thumbsup2

So we are the only ones behind the gates?:rolleyes1

SORRY!

Waiting for more reports from some that are on deck 12 right now.

Have read some reports that the gates are open during the day? CM will let you in? Gifts can be dropped off in the concierge lounge?:confused3

Also found out the doors are not metal? 1 day after I made a bunch of magnets??:scared1:

Will keep you posted and please post if you find out any info.

Thank you everyone.

WHAT?!
Ahem, excuse me. No, seriously, did you just say that the doors on the disney dream are NOT magnetic?! All of the cabin doors, or just the concierge ones? :sad1: I searched the forums, and can't figure out if this is just a "feature" (Yargh) for the concierge folks...

We're in the regular cabins - does that mean our doors ARE magnetic?

I just spent two entire weekends, making our magnets...

Yes the other doors are metal. Pics posted of magnets on them.

Sounds like just concierge? Not sure if they are wood or have a thick vinyl cover that prevents the thin magnets from clinging?

Have seen the 4 day maiden voyage navigator and it shows the drill at 3:45 so I think are 3pm meet will be ok.

We are keeping you company behind the gates too:goodvibes But we are not doing the FE and luckily(I don't know why) I had not made any new magnets for this cruise. We can't wait we are going to be on our way to port 2 weeks from today:banana:

Well I can say without a doubt we will never stay in concierge now. :goodvibes 1st downside was that they went from sleeping 7 to sleeping only 5 and 2nd no magnets. Gotta have my magnets. :goodvibes
