Feb 2017?

Hi all

We are planning a trip for next February and will try to book in about 2 weeks. Of course, crowd calendars aren't out yet (well the the one on easywdw). We were thinking the 3 or 4 to the 10 or 11. I thought this would be a fairly slow time (and I do mean relatively) but I've found a few calendars that say crowds will be heavy - which seems odd. Thoughts?

Depends which part of February. First week or so, before Valentine's Day is low. Picks up mid month and later due to long weekend holidays and early school breaks.

Our last 2 trips have been early Feb and the crowds have been manageable.
The only 'issue' we've had is with the increased crowds over cheer competition weekend - and we go to IOA/US on those days!!
I love Valentine's Day in Disney, there isn't necessarily anything really special happening (last time the princesses were joined by their princes) but just little touches of romance make me happy!!

We went in beginning of February I think in 2013. We felt like it was our busiest time we had been and we were not happy. South American tour groups, cheerleading comp and I think lots of kids had off in Louisiana for mardi gras so it was a triple whammi! We are also considering trying jan-feb again but checking when cheer comps and mardi gras are. I have heard here on the boards that the South American tour groups have lessened due to their money not going as far currently.

Someone here was kind enough to inform me Cheer Comp is Feb 11 & 12...if that helps
We are going Feb 18-24...beginning of our stay is President's Day, which we will not go in the parks and do our other fav Orlando stuff while crowds are crazy. And then after Tuesday we will hit the parks.

I checked some dates. Easter is later this year so Mardi gras is at the end of the month. And our trip is a week or two before president's day.

We've always gone to Fla this time of year and it hasn't been busy at all - but we've never been to Disney at this time. I know this week in the past has been dead. Last year it wasnt because Easter was so early so school breaks were really early. I'm just hoping that it won't be crazy. We are early morning people so that should help......

We'll be leaving in the morning of the 9 or 10 so hopefully that means we avoid the cheer competition! We have young kids so we will be doing different stuff than teenagers anyway, and keeping very different hours.

We are considering Feb 24-Mar 1. Are we nuts? We are from Louisiana, and can use our Mardi Gras break. We've been at the end of May, and the week of Thanksgiving. Both were excellent times to visit, in our opinions.

President' Day week is winter school break for most of New England. Lots and lots of familys visit Disney at this time

We went the last week of Feb this year and it was great!! We got to the parks early and didn't start seeing crowds til about 1pm.

We've typically gone during the last week of February and found crowds to be Baby Bear level -- not amazing but not overly crowded, either. It's the "off week" between February holidays (Valentines, Presidents) / activities (Princess Half Marathon) and March's Flower & Garden Festival plus Spring Break crowds. Usually that week nothing is going on with the half marathon ending on Sunday. This upcoming year, it looks like the start of Lent will be Wednesday (meaning Mardi Gras on Tuesday) and I think I saw Disney might also begin the Flower and Garden Festival on Wednesday rather than wait until the following week. No break week means consistent "higher" prices.
