Feb 2009 code watch

Count me in!

Going the 2nd through the 11th, staying at PORS, hopefully!

Planning on booking as a AAA discount room only, then adjusting depending upon what the codes come out looking like.

For those curious about last years: we went in Janurary (9th through 17th) and had a discount on our room, as well as the WPFM and PH for free.

I think total savings for us was 400, with the WPFM being a bonus, because we didn't really want that.

Here's looking to october!

-Mike

Which hotel did you stay at last year? Hope they give a room discount this year too!! Do you remember when the discount came out? I am gettinganxious!!:dance3:

The last two years the codes came out on or around 11/1. We have gone the first week of February last three years and all three years they have offered the free ticket upgrade and a slight room discount. I am wondering if it is going to be the same this year. I have a feeling it might change, as the codes for Fall - December this year changed, I have been following the codes for the last three years and had not seen free dining offered during this time. So who knows what will be offered for us this time around. You can view the codes for the last couple of years here http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html#codetrends

We are planning on February 4 - 14, not sure if at CBR, POP or POR yet, waiting to see what kind of codes are offered first

Thanx for the above info :rotfl:
i have been watching the historical site to see what "could" be available and couldn't believe the extended dining into dec WOW! know only we can be paitent and see what comes our way... PH would be a nice added touch too if that's all they offer
we have to bow to them if anything is offered :worship: they don't have to do anything :woohoo:

Hello Feb. '09 travelers! We are set for Feb. 3-7th but only with our flights....and some meal reservations. I am having a terrible time deciding where to stay! Does everyone else have rooms booked are are you waiting for the deals?

Haven't booked yet, I did make ADRs today, got everything we wanted  We still can't decide on the resort, either 7 nights at WL or 10 nights at CBR Or maybe 10 nights at POP with Dining Plan.

Brand new to DIS- this is my first post. We will be there 2/2 thru 2/12. Haven't decided where to stay yet, but will be making reservations in the next few days. We have always stayed off site in the past, and we decided to go for the "whole Disney deal" this time around- cancelled our off site reservations last night.

Looking forward to these "codes" I have read about on here, and other pointers.

Went this same week in '06, weather was perfect, crowds were light..... So excited.

Me again... already.

I have a quick question for all of you. (and if there is a more appropriate place to post it, please, by all means, point me in the right direction.)

As I have been playing w/ different packages, I have decided that we are probably either going to stay at Pop Century, or a moderate resort, and doing the Quick Dining Package. However, I am a bit confused by one small aspect:

Can anyone tell me why adding the quick dining costs me $700 w/ the moderate resorts, and only half of that (right around $350) w/ the value resorts?!!!? I don't understand why level of resort would influence the cost of food at the Quick Service Restaurants........:confused3 :confused3

TIA!!!

ETA: Nevermind, they must have fixed it. It is the same price both ways now. I called them about it a couple of days ago, and they acted like I was crazy..... kind of like when I emailed three times to ask why the resort virtual tours weren't working, and was told that they were, it must be my computer, and was instructed to clear a bunch of stuff off of my computer, etc. Low and behold, I got an email back today that said the virtual tours are "NOW working, and the problems have been resolved"....

I hope they continue offering the room discount! :scared1: I just discovered that they offered one last year and my TA never applied it and we payed full rack rate for everything!!!  I am not a season traveler and I would LOVE to take my kids back this FEB, but if there isn't a discount there is no way we can swing it. I am hoping for some pixiedust.

Don't mean to be mean, but hope you got a new TA because the discount was significant!!! Here's believing for pixie dust with you:tink: :tinker: pixiedust:

Oh, I learned my lesson, BELIEVE ME!;) That was our first trip, and once I saw that the kids were enjoying it as much as I was I started planning before we left! I found the DIS when I got back and realized that I could have saved a ton of money. We didn't need a rental car, lost the discount on the Disney package itself and paid top dollar for airfare that we bought in August of 07!!! That TA will get no more work from me or our families. Disney is the one place where my family is normal. There are so many people wih backpacks and only security knows that we are carrying an arsenal of pharamaceuticals that are vital to saving our childrens life. SO here's hoping we all get some pixie dust! :tinker: pixiedust:

I may book POP century now, and when the codes come out, re-book a Moderate or Deluxe...see how much I can save.;)

We are currently looking at going February 18-24. We've always gone in late spring, so I don't know if this is a good time or not. Is is usually crowded or warm enough to swim? I'm a little worried we won't be able to swim much and my kids love that part of vacation.

We have gone the first week in February the last three years and have swam just about every day and have visited the water parks as well. In 2006 it was rather chilly in the evenings but very comfortable in the day. This past February there was a heat wave, was near 100 the whole week. Hope that helped

Early Feb. is uncrowded, but according to the WDW pricing calendar, you are going during "Peak" season. I would be prepared for crowds. (I am betting it's not any where near as crowded as Christmas and 4th of July, but probably very busy.)

Weather really varies, from 80s to 50s. Google for a historical weather chart, and see what the range is.
Happy planning! :wizard:

We will be there February 19th - February 25th...and always have to go around President's week so the grandchildren don't miss much school...It really isn't as bad as some of the other times of the year...We've always had decent weather...and the kids have even gone to one of the Water Parks...(I did, too) They always swim in the pool at POP just about every night...:yay:
