Feb 2009 code watch

Yup - we are from WI too - going 2/7 - 2/13. What a great break from the snow - 60-70 degrees will be a heat wave for us by then! No problems getting into the pools for us!

We have decided against the meal plan - it seems they give you the meal plan for the days your flying in and out - which are wasted days for us so we would only have four days to eat 6 days worth of meals . . .right? We can't just pick the meal plan for 4 days?

Dining plan is based on the number of nights your room is booked for. 7 nights = 7 CS, 7 TS and 7 snacks per person.

We were at Disney one year in December. It was a little chilly but there was NO stopping my DD and my niece from getting in the pool. The lifeguards just looked at us and shook their heads! :)

Good to see that there will be other "cheese heads" enjoying warmer weather in February!

Sorry, had to :lmao: a little because I'm in Minnesota staying at the Poly from Feb 3rd - 10th. So a little overlap with you guys! Obviously we know what the winters are like though. NOOOO Cheese heads here though. ;)

I bought it, but that's mainly due to the state of airlines right now. I wanted to be sure that if the airline I'm booked with (Airtran) goes under, I will get a refund. I did check with the insurance company to be sure such an even would be covered and it is, but you much purchase the insurance within a certain time period from when you buy your airline tickets. (I think it was 7 days and depends on the carrier.) With all the medical things that have popped up in my family since I booked it may end up to be a better investment than I originally thought!

humm - good thinking about Airtrans and the travel insurance :thumbsup2 . I never looked at it from that aspect and in this day and age - who knows how long some of these airlines will be around! I think I will call and add it!

Hi Everyone - I'm new here and boy, what a pluthera of information here. . .it's almost daunting. We are booking our first family trip this weekend - going 2/7/09 -2/12/09 staying at Pop Centry. We are planning on booking via the website or just calling - or, is using a TA a better idea? Thoughts? This is the first time we've ever planned a Disney trip on our own so kind of winging it!

And what about ADR - we are thinking of doing the new counter service meal plan which you don't need any ADR for but I'd like to book ONE nice sit down character meal - but something both my 8 yr old DS and 5 yr old DD will both enjoy. Thoughts??

Hi!

I was one of the Wisconsinites who posted earlier. We will be there 2/7 - 2/13. I'm not getting too excited yet, but I think that' because we haven't told the kids we are going and DH is less than enthused. We are going to give them Disney personized messenger bags for Christmas with something inside letting them know we are going. Once I can start openly talking about it I'm sure I'll be through the roof excited especially since this will be our first trip. Being in Disney instead of Wisconsin in early February is going to be through the roof! :woohoo:

We go every February with the whole family..(adult kids and grandchildren)..and we usually have to go around President's Week so the kids won't miss much school... It's a wonderful time to go...

ANYONE???

My travel agent said the discount for 2008 rooms was 15% at the time we were there last Feb. There was also ticket upgrades to park hopper and waterparks. Some people had to switch resorts to get the room discount. Disney was trying to fill other resorts. Hope this helps.

Hoping for a 1 night discount at ANY resort, LOL on 2/18. Won a trip to Gaylord Palms for 3 nights & plane is coming in late the night before. Value resorts are booking out at $154 for us that night which is too much to pay to just sleep there. And definitely don't want to add a night at $337 at the Palms!!!

So we may be at the Holiday Inn Express........................:lmao:

Normally we don't get it. However after last year( there was a blizzard that was hitting the day we were leaving, and I was lucky enough to get on a flight the day before) I'm not taking a chance and am going to get it for next Feb.'s trip.

Does anyone know if the code they had out for Feb '08 included a room discount along with the free hopper and water park? If so, what percentage was the discount? Just curious :)

I can tell you that when I worked out the numbers there was definitely some savings on the room. I don't remember how much we saved but it was still better than rack.

Keeping an eye out for those Feb. discounts as we are again planning a trip for Mardi Gras time to work with the time our kids are out of school. Hope we see some good discounts come through!

we made reservations for feb 1-10 @ AS Movie's and have most ADR's made. Doing lots of character meals:banana:

We have all of our ADR's made! Didn't seem to be any trouble getting in anywhere. My sister even got a reservation for lunch at the castle!

Hope this means the crowds will be light...

Let the countdown begin!! :yay:

I made our reservations for rooms only right now for Pop...Feb 19-25th. I could only make dinner reservations until the 22nd. She said to call back in a couple of weeks for the rest of the days. I plan to keep watching for codes before I committ to the Magic Your Way dining and tickets... Two of us have AP's....I keep crossing my fingers!
