Feb 20, 2011 - Presidents' Week - Mexican Riviera

Thanks so much for the link! With all the Disney Cruises I have been on, I have NEVER "peeked ahead" at a Navigator from a previous cruise! I feel like I am cheating! :rotfl: Now I am even MORE excited for this cruise! :woohoo: One thing I noticed is that a Spa special one day is $50 off Teeth Whitening-- I actually have that already booked (or should I say HAD)-- I have wanted to do this for a while & due to Visa Rewards Points, OBC from a refund & OBC from booking onboard, I have over $1,500 to spend on the ship so I was thinking about getting it done in the Vista Spa (since my dentist doesn't accept Disney credit... lol!) Now, I will hold out to see if it is a special our week as well. If not, I'm sure it's not a service that will sell out to quickly!

ME TOO. I tell ya, my family will not be happy if we don't get our milk, me included. BIG time milk drinkers here.

We are HUGE milk drinkers, too! There are 3 of us & we all drink at least a gallon each every week-- Of course, we all like different kinds to make things more difficult!

One question I have regarding the Kids Clubs-- I pre- registered my son & my online documents say he is registered for the Lab, but when I look at the Navigator, it says ages 11- 13 are in the Edge. He is 10 now-- (turning 11 on the 11th-- this is actually his birthday cruise!) Maybe that's why it says Lab, because he is/ was 10 when I registered him? (Still can't believe he will be in the Edge-- His 1st cruise, he was just under 3 & not fully potty trained & was still in Flounder's Reef Nursery! How time flies... :sad2:)

Also-- VERY EXCITED to see that The Golden Mickeys on still on the Wonder! That is my FAVORITE show & I really missed it on the TA! Also, I see that Mickey's Mates is selling Duffy the Bear-- I can't wait to get him! :)

I was excited to look through them too. Looks like they have some nice stuff planned.

Anyone know if they offer different kinds of milk? Or what kind do they have? Just curious, we drink non fat milk here....since we drink so much!

DD got her Duffy at DCA this fall. I didn't let her pick the Mexico outfit, we were waiting for this trip. We are actually going to DL/DCA before the cruise, I'm wondering if they sell the outfit on board or if I should try to pick it up at hte parks just in case.

Did you guys see they apparently are not doing the Tea w/Alice? I am bummed. I was all set to pack DD Alice dress for her to wear to this. I guess the only "tea" they offer is on the first day too? Not each sea day. With only 60 spots, that is bound to fill up quickly.

My son drinks milk exclusively. I'm 99% sure they had nonfat on the ship. If it wasn't nonfat, it was 2% or reduced fat.

A night time snack of milk and cookies is a must on our cruise :thumbsup2

I know the Wonder has reduced fat milk in the dining rooms and am pretty sure at the beverage station. They also have whole milk available in the dining room (or did have a few months ago) because at one of our dinners my 7 yr old granddaughter asked for a glass of milk. Our server brought her a glass, she drank some and said it tasked funny. She thought it was spoiled. We tasted it and it was fine but it was whole milk. Our 7 yr old mostly drinks 1% and had never had whole milk that she can remember. The server had to go to a different dining room to get her 1% milk. I don't know if the dining room ran out or if it was the standard, but for every subsequent meal she had reduced fat milk.

Oh my gosh! We are the anti-milk drinkers on the cruise! I have to force my children to drink it at dinner and even then I usually relax when we are not home. So it's doubtful they will even drink one serving on the boat! Thankfully they love yogurt, so they get enough calcium. But there will be that much more milk for all of you.:rotfl2:

My computer died over the weekend (read: "someone" dropped the netbook and then stepped on it while it was open) UGH! Hard to get too angry at the kids though when it was me who left it out. So, went out and bought a new laptop yesterday. Definitely not in the budget, but we'll just think about the tax refund coming in a month or two.

Almost done with my FE gifts. Finished making the family gift and now have to finish the kids. Girls are easy...what the heck do I get for teenage boys? I'm having a hard time with that one. Here's hoping inspiration will strike!

Snow day today in anticipation of the storm we did not get. So, we are off to the paint your own pottery place and maybe to party city to look for some small pirate things to wear.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Oh and my cruise docs finally came yesterday! So excited to hear that they have added the airport check-in on the boat. TA had said earlier they couldn't do it in LA, but it seems they can. Nice to know we won't have to wait in line to check in our luggage.

Since we're getting close, I checked out the 10 day on weather.com. Looks like it is going to be in the high 70s in PV and Cabo next week. :cool1:

As for the "Tea with Alice", I have the Disney Passporter book and it says there is a "Tea with Wendy" from Peter Pan this year. So I am going to still see if I can get tickets.

I was a little nervous that there was only 2 1/2 weeks left so I stayed up last night and finished my fish extender. It turned out pretty cute and I put binding all the way around so you can't see my crooked sewing. Now to finish my gifts.

And I was reading some other posts and it sounds like they did not run out of milk completely, just in the dispenser, but the crew refilled it. I'm sure if it happened to my niece, she would have asked Mickey himself to refill it so she was sure to get her milk.

There's so much to do and not enough time so I think losing that extra 10 lbs will have to wait.

I read somewhere that, after PV, they had cartons of both regular as well as chocolate milk with the text in Spanish.

I just read that disembarkation begins at approximately 9:30 a.m. On the 27th. Our flight home is at 12:10 p.m. Are we going to make it???? I am TOTALLY STRESSING OUT NOW!!!!!
:sad2:

What times are you all flying out?

We are the same, we leave at 1:10pm. Hopefully it works out. I know that we have early dinner seating so we will be early to breakfast that day. But i heard that customs didn't clear the ship until 9am. Crossing our fingers that everything goes well.

I am getting so excited. I read through the Navigator's last night with my older kids and my 13yo Michael was pretty excited about some of the activities that were going to happen at the Edge, so I was glad about that.

A couple questions for you all: If my adult FE won't fit in people's Fish Extender pocket, is it safe to leave outside the door or should I try to leave it with the room steward?

I noticed that many of the girls on the FE list did not include who their favorite character? My girl FE's can be customized with their Character so if your DD would like her's to be included please PM me by this weekend.

Also, as a first timer, can someone list the things I NEED to do as soon as I get on board. It sounds like going to Guest Services to get my tickets for the Character breakfast is important but not sure if I should try to get Palo brunch reservations first? How likely is it to get a Palo reservation on the boat anyway? Is there a good "plan of attack" ?

I was a little confused by the Navigator if my son will be 6 on the cruise can he choose between activities in lab and the club or is he stuck in one area?

Are we still meeting at 3 on embarkation day?

I know I have more questions but can't remember them all. Thanks again for all your insight.

From what I read, disembarkation was a bit earlier (customs cleared the ship at 9am), but you need to make sure you are in the first group.

My MIL and FIL have a 12:10 flight out of SNA, we originally booked it for 12:45 but AA changed the flight times. They are getting a private car service to pick them up at 9:30 am and take them straight to the airport, about 30-45 minutes away. They should be ok, I hope.

I know the gifts I got for the kids probably won't fit in most FE. I don't know why, but I totally thought it was bigger from looking at pictures online. Anyways, it is stuff that will most likely be used up, so don't worry about it taking up too much space in luggage. My plan was to leave by the door when we pass them out. or try to figure a way to hang them on FE.

If you can leave them with the room steward, that would be the safest but that means a lot of running around the ship, trying to find the right stewards. Leaving them by the door makes it too easy for someone to pick it up. I would try to figure out a way to hang it from the fish (maybe in a bag with a handle).

Anyone else making door magnets for their door?

I spent the day cutting out and laminating all of mine. I still have to re-cut out now that they are laminated and apply the magnets. We have two cabins (right across from eachother) so I had two doors to fill. While they won't be "filled" I think I did plenty.

You know, I started planning this cruise a year ago, I can't believe I waited til the last minute to get all this stuff done. I still have more shopping to do before we go!

We got some nice magnets courtesy of Jordak. This is the first time we are putting magnets on the door, and it is our 7th Disney cruise.

I had Jordak make some designs for me but have yet to make magnets out of them. A lot of them are out of date now too because of the itinerary change. GRRRRRRR
