A somber reminder for all of us, the Caribbean and not just Haiti, has been the spot of numerous earthquakes in the past few days, including a 5.8 magnitude quake centered off Grand Cayman earlier today. Please make a plan with your families should we experience any seismic activity while on the cruise or excursion. I’ve been assured by Disney that they will use their best judgment and will do everything possible to avoid areas that are in question and could make last minute changes to our itinerary. You can contact Disney directly for further questions.

I’m looking forward to a fun and relaxing vacation…hope to see you all at the 3pm meet.

Wow...who knew the earth was so active? Thank you jtravisl for posting this... I immediately googled Caribbean Earthquakes and found a ton of articles. I also stumbled accross this website that shows all recent earthquake activity on a giant globelike map... posting the link just incase others are interested... http://www.iris.edu/seismon/

Just got a call from my TA. We got upgraded to cat. 4. We're now in room 8014. I guess that's what happens when:
1. You ask your TA for help getting a res. at Palo and she can't.
and
2. Your TA is bored bored bored.
I'm picking up the docs tomorrow!
Who else is wicked excited to get out of the snowy north?!

Hey gang...from those with previous cruise experience...what's your recommendation on flip flops. My daughter (6) tries to live in them during the summer... I'm not a big fan...

Besides going to the pool is there another need? We will be wearing water shoes on any excursion.

Congrats! I'm jealous... seems like everyone is getting upgrades. Not me Maybe I should start calling DCL. I noticed that rooms are available on our cruise again. (for a while our cruise wasn't available)

We're not too snowy (at least right now) here at the Jersey Shore, but it's been so damp and cold that I can't wait to be warm and dry!

I live in my flip-flops except when I'm out of the house. I have the Crocs Athens (the Disney ones, but only because that's what was on sale when I got them). I'm also bringing one pair of dress shoes, one pair of sneakers and another pair of Crocs for walking around at WDW after the cruise. My older granddaughter (age 9) lives in hers, too. She'd go barefoot, except that we have lots of baby toys on the floor these days and she's afraid she'll hurt her poor, tender little feet.

Kathy and Beth...as you can see...I am NO HOLLY! But, hey, I actually got a project done! And within the same starting and ending date! Thank you DISNEY! Now, the laundry....hmph....

So..Who's hubby is like "What?!?! A MEET? What is a meet?? What are you roping me into? Fish Extender?! What the?" I blame it all in Cabin Fever, January blues and Disney magic... I will SO have a Bud Light or even a T&T waiting for him in the Promenade lounge..

Before the first cruise where I planned to attend a meet, Jim was sure that all of my DIS friends were either imaginary or axe murderers. Now he believes that DIS'ers are real, and I think he's gotten over the axe murderer thing!

Panic-ing over the chance of a snow day tomorrow...You'll hear me screaming in Jersey, Beth if we have one!

We just booked our 14th cruise with Disney for 2/20. It will be myself Jeff and DW Kathy. Leaving 19 year college student (daughter) at home. She's not too upset because she gets the house to herself.

Looking forward to getting away and having some good times.

Ladies...shall we all bring axes to the Promenade Lounge?? J

At our dinners on our last cruise, we were a table of four DIS couples. We also had our GTY Cat 12 rooms all in a row, so we saw a lot of each other. At the first dinner, all of the other DIS'ers at our table picked up their knives and pointed them at poor Jim and declared that axes weren't allowed on board, but knives were....! It's a good thing that Jim is a good sport. He quickly figured out that not only were they not murderers, at least as far as we could tell, but that they were fun people.

As far as snow--we may have some on Friday, but not much. While it does snow here, Long Branch is right on the shoreline, so it doesn't snow as often as towns just a bit farther inland, and it really has to be a lot of snow to stick.
