Hi All!
5 weeks from today, hopefully from right now we'll be on the ship! ...

Shauna
I can't wait. I'm tired of being cold, although it's a bit warmer here at the Jersey Shore today. I'm looking forward to food that I don't have to shop for, cook, serve or clean up. I don't even care if that food is any good right now, although DH and I have never had ANY complaints about
DCL food. DH gained 12 POUNDS on our second cruise, and it was only four nights. He had to fly home from Florida to New Jersey in his bathing suit and a shirt since he just couldn't get any of his pants to fit. It might not have been so bad if it hadn't been the second week of December

! Now he's a bit more careful about what he eats. Perhaps only one visit to the ice cream machine on Deck 9 each day.
You can count us in for the DIS meet. Our names are Beth (that's me

) and Jim, room 7125. We're not going to participate in the FE because we're two older folks trying to travel as light as possible for a two week trip!
As for shore excursions--
We're undecided about Key West. We have our Palo Brunch that morning and may be too stuffed to do anything more than stand at the dock and wish we hadn't eaten so much! We may just walk around and see what there is to see. By the way, there are usually plenty of Palo spots reserved for booking on boarding day. Just make sure to go to wherever they're taking reservations as soon as they open.
For Cozumel we're doing the Cozumel Highlights and Mayan Ruins tour. We need something that doesn't involve too much climbing (I have bad knees) and we like to get an overview of places we visit. We can decide whether we like the place enough to return on a vacation.
For Grand Cayman we've booked the Island Tour, for the same reason I mentioned above. Our granddaughter, who's 9 1/2 years old, thinks it's hilarious that her grandparents are going to Hell on their vacation.
We've booked both tours through DCL. Jim is a bit paranoid about booking anything NOT through the cruise line. He has friends who got left behind in port (not on DCL) because their tour not booked through the cruise line was delayed. The ship was long gone before they ever got back to the port!
For our day at
Castaway Cay we'll probably head to Serenity Bay and enjoy some grown-up time. We share a house with my son and his family, (granddaughter 9 1/2, granddaugher 1 and grandson 1) so there isn't a lot of quiet time here! We love finding a quiet spot in the shade and just relaxing. I always bring my knitting or crocheting to enjoy, and swim if the water is warm enough. On my cruise in May, the weather so awful until late afternoon that I didn't even bother to get off the ship, so I'm really looking forward to that island atmosphere for a day! It's been a little bit more than two years since my last day on Castaway Cay.
I just happened to catch Magic sailing out on the Port Canaveral webcam. I can't wait to be ON the ship watching Port Canaveral slide past!
