Feb. 2, 2014 - Western Carribean on the Wonder

Howdy! We booked awhile ago, I was sitting in another forum all lonely until Murse09 found me. First time on the 'Magic' class ship - we've been on the Dream and Fantasy. My wife, 4yo son, and another family (5yo girl, 3yo boy) will be going with us. We are from Cincinnati, they are from Los Angeles. Both families are getting in the day before, staying near the airport so we can use Disney transfers.

Glad to see you followed the crumb trail....
I'm one of two Canucks on this boat, we from northern Ontario. About 4 hours due north of Toronto. There is me, the hubby my wonderful wife and my dd age 4 at cruise time. Also my mother in law, but I actually like here.

Welcome to our small group

Howdy all.

Two from Philly joining you. First Disney cruise for both of us. Just the two of us, no kids. (Our motto is "Kids are great, as long as we can give them back to their parents after a few hours.")

Hi! We will be on this cruise as well! I sent a request to join the FE. We went on another disney cruise 6 years ago and the kids loved doing it :)

Our little group that could is growing.... By my account we might be able to fill 3 or 4 tables at diner and crowd one pool...yeah...hehe....seriously though...regardless how many are on this cruise, this group will be a good time me thinks

Howdy Russ!!! I've always liked that motto, thou 99.9999999999999% of the time now I'm glad ill never have to give my daughter back :)

What are you two most looking forward to on the cruise?

Just joining after our original cruise was canceled this morning. So I'm assuming there will be quite a few of us headed to this cruise!
Myself, DH and DD4.

What was your original cruise? So sorry for that inconvenience, but glad to have you with us!

Thanks :) I'm just considering myself lucky to still be able to go on one. it seems as though a lot of people are having to opt to cancel due to flight fees and work changes. We were on the January 19th wonder cruise, same itinerary. They canceled the 19th & 24th wonder cruises early this morning.

Yep that would be harsh....I would like to know the reason too as this is in line with this one and wondering if it could happen to us, but at any level, welcome aboard this one, as I can see you have a kid of 4, which automatically makes you one of us as this seems to be the theme...know if you we're to tell us you are traveling with you mother in law, you would be sooooo status que ... Giggle :dance3::rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Ok so it's because it is under repair for 10 days....something about a FIRE on one of the last cruises....yikes, and ours is the first cruise out....at leat it will be cleaner then normal clean, but I don't know how I feel about being the " shack the bugs out" cruise:eek:

It basically said the two cruises are being canceled due to unplanned maintenance that will be performed on the Disney Wonder in January, the ship will be taken out of service for a brief period of time. They offered me a 25% discount to rebook and said they'd "consider" reimbursing flight change fees. Even with the 25% discount I'm still paying wayyyyy more out of pocket for this vacation now due to the flight change fees. It doesn't sound promising that I'll actually see any compensation for those.

BUT I'm trying to stay optimistic and remember that we are extremely lucky to be able to give our DD this experience. It sounds like so many people are being forced to cancel instead of rebook because of the fees they'll be incurring.

I'm still waiting to hear back from DCL while they consider my request regarding the flight change fees. Also, I'm EXTREMELY bummed because I had my dining preferences locked in for the other cruise and now we are wait listed. I'm so worried that late dining will ruin our cruise. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll be able to sprinkle some pixie dust our way and get us into first seating.
