Feb.13th(lucky for some) 2010 Eastern Valentines Cruise - The Love Boat Sails Again !

We got our cruise docs!!!! Woo Hoo!!!

I did notice that we have Palo Brunch reservations on Thursday. It's at 11 a.m., so I should make it to the ladies brunch to enjoy the company - but I think I'll pass on a second meal. :)

Also, one page 14 (I think) it say's "Thank you for choosing to prepay your gratuities". I assume the booklets are personalized for each of us, but I don't remember prepaying our gratuities. That would be great if we did. Does anyone else's say that, but you don't think you prepaid? I was just curious. I guess a phone call to the TA is in order. :)

Have a great day! I'll send out an update this weekend for the exchange!

I've missed alot not being on here for a few weeks! Anyway, we also prepaid. Not sure how it happened, but we were given a price that included gratuities! Also, I'm glad to hear there are so many of us at the late dining. I was considering trying to switch to the early seating. How do I get involved in linking the dining?

you can count me in; I'd rather drink beer than wine any day, with the occasional pina colada thrown in for that tropical touch.

Isn't there a beer mug or glass of some kind you can purchase on board and get refills for a discount? I think I had seen that somewhere, I obviously need to get my research done in between packing and cleaning for the housesitter.

Beer deal is you buy the mug I think it is a 20 oz mug and then the re-fill are at the 16oz price  We already have the mug....is it wrong to bring it with us:confused3 I think we will and it will be our secret :rotfl:

Hello fellow Magic cruisers! Thanks PurtyPat for introducing me to this board. Last year I went on a 3 day cruise with a friend and loved it so much I talked my parents into taking me on this 7 day one! LOL Castaway Cay is my favorite part.

Mom and I are going horseback riding at Bayside while dad waits for us at Orient Beach. If we have time I was hoping to visit Maho Beach before going back to the ship. Any recommendations on good spots at Orient beach? I'd like to be far enough from the noise but near enough if I want to do water activities... and I know my dad wants a good bar. Also not super empty or crowded if that makes sense ;) Thanks for any suggestions!

At St. Thomas mom wants to visit St. John.. no idea whats good there, never been.

And my favorite place, Castaway Cay, I'm going to try to make the para sailing! It was cancelled last time cause of the wind so figured I'd make an earlier reservation this time.

22 more days to go! Hope to see y'all there enjoying yourselves as much as I plan to :)

I can't believe we're cruising in 3 weeks! Time to start packing! I'm sure the kids will have outgrown their summer clothes and I'll be frantically searching for somewhere to buy some. I just hope it's warm when we get there. It's going to be so much fun!!!!

galloj0 - where exactly in Mass is the Irish Riviera?;)

Scituate; it is (or was at one time) the zip code with one of the highest percentage of people of Irish descent outside of Ireland itself. Home to the Maritime and Irish Mossing Museum. Some people consider the entire South Shore along the water the Irish Riviera, but back in the day, it was just Scituate.

Welcome to the other side Ebunny!!!!!

Last year Orlando was a bit cold, the rest of the cruise was just right. Castaway Cay, was a bit chilly & very windy sun was really strong & hot, w made it perfect.

Disney Cruise tip Always carry a sweater to dinner, dinning room is "COLD"

Thanks, Patricia, I will definately be packing sweatshirts and sweaters - I don't like being cold! We were in Florida this same week last year and had a few chilly days, so I"m going to be prepared. I just read your trip report and it made me very excited to go! I hope you are healthy now.

Another tip: If you forget your sweater or jacket durning dinner, ask your server for a tablecloth for warmth. LOL

2 months will be one year "Cancer free" this is my "celebrating life" cruise

Glad to hear this is your celebrating life cruise! I can so picture myself wearing a tablecloth, and the rest of my family pretending they don't know me! I will do anything to be warm!

So I finally dug out our passports last night to get the online paperwork done. All the Disney stuff is done, now I just need to get my son and my measurements for the tux rentals for formal night.:cool1: We'll be ready to go then; do I really have to wait until the 13th?

Congrats on your 1-year anniversary of cancer-free!! We can all celebrate with a drink once we all get onboard !!

Hi everyone -

We're looking forward to joining you all on our third Disney cruise. We took our first about this time last year, a Magic Western and then did a bounceback 3-night on Wonder in September. The Western was our first ever cruise and we've found that we really enjoy them. We're looking forward to the extra sea day and the eastern islands that seem interesting.

Quick intros of our family:
- Judy - stressed out working mom looking forward to relaxation - originally from southern Virginia
- Kevin - IT manager that loves to get away in the island lifestyle (it's 5:00 somewhere) and also likes the nautical side of cruising. Originally from Fairfax, VA
- John - our 12 year old son (going on 17) - loves baseball - he makes friends quickly and on most of our cruises we don't see much of him but he has a great time
- Lacy - our 14 year old daughter - loves all things Disney, particularly Minnie Mouse - Lacy is a special needs child with a general developmental delay (some autistic characteristics but not all) - tends to be shy but gets along well with everyone and is a real sweetheart. She LOVES cruising.

From our Virginia roots we've also lived in Charlotte, NC for about 10 years (where we met and John and Lacy were born) and moved to Tampa, FL about seven years ago. During the recent Florida freeze we've been researching places to move further south, but we're running out of country :)

We just booked at the end of December and have read up on the cruise thread - you all sound like a great group to cruise with. We are definitely planning on the meet and greet and will decide soon on the FE and other activities.

We're in a CAT 5 on Deck 7, been in Cat 11 and Cat 9s so really looking forward to our first cruise with a veranda (particularly now that we know we can bring our own wine on board).

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Kevin & Judy

Welcome Judy, Kevin, John and Lacy!! It's going to be a great cruise! Judy, we are having a Ladies Brunch on Thursday, an at-sea day, if you would like to join us. The FE exchange is closing on Jan. 31, so you have until then to decide. It'll be nice to meet your family.

WELCOME, Kevin, Judy, John and Lacy!

We are from Charlottesville,VA (Barb, John and Jen) and we LOVE to cruise too. This is our 9th Disney cruise adventure.

I believe we have a GREAT group of folks on this cruise everyone is friendly and looking forward to a wonderful relaxing time.

I'm with your husband, island thoughts and it's 5O'clock somewhere is my theme music. I am a country music fan and a Kenny Chesney NUT!

My husband John flies a Medicvac helicopter for the University of Virginia Medical Center and is an all around great guy and he loves cruising and relaxing on the balcony with a beer or glass of wine.

Jen our daughter (21) is a "special needs gal" too and she also LOVES to cruise. She had several medical issues Autism being just one small part. She is a happy loving girl but shy when meeting new people. She loves Disney Cruising and getting all the pizza that one person can eat!

ONLY 20 more days WOOHOO! We are waiting for our cabin assignment and it has been my "joke" that the ship is preparing the Walt Suite for us!

See you soon and Welcome to the Gang! :dance3::dance3:
