Feb.13th(lucky for some) 2010 Eastern Valentines Cruise - The Love Boat Sails Again !

Good Morning and Happy Sunday to everyone :cool1:

ONLY 20 Days left!!!

Question of the day.....should I buy new shoes to go with my new dress? :confused3

Patty, can you please go to the Bendix Diner and have breakfast for me today! :rotfl::rotfl: and then report back as to how good it was! I miss diner food! :lmao:

Karen......Happy Birthday (a day in advance) :banana::banana::banana:

Welcome to our newest cruisers! Glad to have you join us.

Barbara - YES to the new shoes.... why not? You're driving so you can bring as much as you want to! Me , on the other hand.... ugh! I am so trying to limit my stuff, but I am the world's worst packer. This summer we went to Vegas/Grand Canyon for 5 days and all Meg brought was an over- size purse with all her clothes for the whole trip! She offered to pack for the cruise for me before she went back to college... I guess i should have taken her up on it! I make piles, take things out, put other things in, think it might be cold so I add warmer things, think it might be hot so I put out sleeveless things.... to sum it up, I am out of my mind!

Karen, it sounds like you and I pack the same way! I am the queen of "what if I want a different outfit" kind of packer! :rotfl2:

Or what if I spill something or what if it's really hot and I want to change a couple times a day and how many bathing suits should I bring, and how many cover-up and oh yes, I really want flip flops (several pair) and fancy shoes and shoes/clothes for flying out of this freezing place I live in, and probably my sneakers so I can walk deck 4 ( I NEED to walk deck 4) and two nice dresses for formal and semi-formal night and cosmetics and medicines (just in case) and binoculars & sunglasses and FE stuff and do we really need that over-the-door hanger and a beach bag (or should we just use the CC bag they'll give us?) and the camera and the ipods and books (lots of books) and on and on and on. it makes my head spin

Let's not forget the hairdryer and all the hair products and my 3 favorite brushes, and my bobywash and scrubby thing! Oh and there is always Jen's favorite snacks :rotfl:

I'm going to try to power walk, if anyone wants to join me (I'm filled with great stories)

Barb, I passed the Bendix diner today & said Hi for ya (I would have taken a photo but don't know how to post them") :confused3

GO JETS!!! :lmao:

Jody and I are absolutely going to walk every day. Not sure what time - may be a different time each day but WE WILL BE WALKING ! Hear that... WE WILL BE WALKING! :rotfl: We are both big walkers who have "fallen off the wagon" and have vowed to get ourselves jump started on the cruise where it's not cold or snowy or icy. Any and all are welcome to join us too!

My daughter is athletic and wants to walk - I will as well, so count us in. I really wish she could use the fitness center with me but she has to be 18.

On another note - I'm minutes away from sending out the latest FE update. Please let me know if you don't get it and you supposed to be on the list!

Walking, Walking all this Walking.......I think I will be charge of counting the laps all you ladies complete and I will cheer you all on to do one more :lmao:

Hi everyone -

We're looking forward to joining you all on our third Disney cruise. We took our first about this time last year, a Magic Western and then did a bounceback 3-night on Wonder in September. The Western was our first ever cruise and we've found that we really enjoy them. We're looking forward to the extra sea day and the eastern islands that seem interesting.

Quick intros of our family:
- Judy - stressed out working mom looking forward to relaxation - originally from southern Virginia
- Kevin - IT manager that loves to get away in the island lifestyle (it's 5:00 somewhere) and also likes the nautical side of cruising. Originally from Fairfax, VA
- John - our 12 year old son (going on 17) - loves baseball - he makes friends quickly and on most of our cruises we don't see much of him but he has a great time
- Lacy - our 14 year old daughter - loves all things Disney, particularly Minnie Mouse - Lacy is a special needs child with a general developmental delay (some autistic characteristics but not all) - tends to be shy but gets along well with everyone and is a real sweetheart. She LOVES cruising.

From our Virginia roots we've also lived in Charlotte, NC for about 10 years (where we met and John and Lacy were born) and moved to Tampa, FL about seven years ago. During the recent Florida freeze we've been researching places to move further south, but we're running out of country :)

We just booked at the end of December and have read up on the cruise thread - you all sound like a great group to cruise with. We are definitely planning on the meet and greet and will decide soon on the FE and other activities.

We're in a CAT 5 on Deck 7, been in Cat 11 and Cat 9s so really looking forward to our first cruise with a veranda (particularly now that we know we can bring our own wine on board).

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Kevin & Judy

Welcome, Judy and Family! Looking forward to meeting you!

Sorry your Jets didn't make it, Patricia, but our Saints are going to the SUPERBOWL:banana::banana::dance3::cheer2::yay:
Still wiping tears from my eyes...

I know I am impatient but I still have no stateroom. Is anyone else in the same boat. LOL no pun intended. Just very excited and wanting to know. I want to suprise my kids when the cruise docs arrive but I don't have those either. Oh well still glad to be sailing.

Hi Everyone
Thank you Purtypat1 for directing me to DisBoards, I was wondering if we were sailing alone (Cruise Critic thread). Although his is our third Disney cruise, we are basically new to cruising.

I have been reading this thread from beginning (I'm on page 11) and decided to post before finishing. DH and I are retired, so no kids along for the ride. We are traveling with another retired couple, their second Disney cruise. We all did the Western Magic Jan 2009 and had a blast. Mostly, we are trying to decide whether to book onboard tours or do it on our own. We ladies are more shoppers than beach sitters, the men just follow along. I have been told not to miss the outdoor market in French side St. Maartin. I will continue to read postings from page 11 on to see if this was already mentioned.

By coincedence, we have friends sailing out of Port Canaveral same day on another ship going to same ports of call, but on opposing days :sad1: We are making plans to wave goodbye to each other from the decks. Hope that works out.

Looking forward to reading hints and meeting some of you on board.

Glad you made it to the other side. :woohoo:

My advice to you would be call your libaray & request:
PassPorter Disney Cruise Line and Its Ports of Call 2009

It will advise you on the all of the port of calls, shoping & tours & how to do it on your own at a low cost.

NO cabin assignment for us yet either :confused3 I'm sure I'm listed as "the stalker" on DCL caller ID :rotfl2:

WELCOME Boomerville!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I have found that tours on your own are less expensive BUT I like the comfort in knowing that if I booked the tour with DCL they won't leave with out me :scared1:

Once you read the entire thread I think you will agree that we have a great bunch of folks sailing on the Magic!!!

Here's to a GREAT cruise!!! :cool1:

No documents or cabin assignment yet for us either.

I'm sick of checking for the cabin assignment, so I figure I will stay off the DCL website and just wait for Barbara to tell me when we have our assignment. I know she will keep checking multiple times a day :)

I figure we should all get them about the same time...so when she posts her cabin number we know to go check and get ours!

I would be interested in walking on the ship. I am also hoping to find time to get to the fitness center to get on an elliptical machine...but I relocated in Nov and haven't been to a gym since Sept. Maybe if I can get a little excercise each day, I won't feel bad about all the food and drinks I plan to consume during the week. I think I gained 8 lbs on the last Disney Cruise. I can't let that happen again. I didn't make it to the fitness center ONE time on the last cruise.
