Well here's hoping that my T/A gets back to me today/ tomorrow and has me on this ship ....price permitting .......having sailed and got married during the Valentine's cruise Feb. 2008 (Western) I have set my heart on joining this boat....just did not realise it was going to be President's & Mardi Gras Week, and therefore more pricey than normal

I don't have a plan B if not ...so I sure hope the price is going to be OK on my cat6.

Anyone else set to join me yet ??? :flower3:

Yay...well, its all go for me now ......I'm booked !:woohoo:

.........the quote was just at the edge of what I was prepared to pay..and only because of the rebooking on board discount (thank goodness I persuaded the DH to provisionally book during our trip last Feb :worship:) ....I still can't believe I am spending this much on a cruise though ...we could have two very nice holidays in the Med for this much.:scared1:
And just as well its priced in dollars, because it just doesn't look so much like its real money I've spent, being a Brit.;)

Right OK ...is there anyone else coming to join the Love Boat :confused3 ???

You are not alone.
We have decided to book this one (it's $1000 cheaper than the spring break cruise we originally moved our dummy date to and still :scared1:)
:lovestrucFeb 14th is DH's B-day!:lovestruc (The 4th is DD's B-day)
so lots to celebrate. looking forward to the loooooooonnnnggg planning time---NOT!:goodvibes

Hi there shipmate :yay:

Great to hear from you :goodvibes .......I'm back late tonight,..took DD7 to see Disney On Ice-Finding Nemo, in Manchester (UK) no less....... so look forward to having a chat to you shortly.

Judy :flower3:

Hi

Better begin with some introductions :

Cruisers ;
Judy -(45) from Cheshire, England
Brian - my husband (38) from Powys, Wales (his first language is welsh !)
Joe - DS (11) son from my first marriage
Vyrnwy - DD (7) daughter from first marriage (she is named after a lake in Wales)

This will be our third Disney cruise, having previously done a 4 night Wonder (Feb.2006) and a 7 night Western (Feb.2008).

Brian & I got married on Grand Cayman this year, during our last Disney cruise

We normally do a week in Orlando before we cruise and are planning on doing the same in 2010.

Our Cast:

Me [Lisa](40)
DH [Ed] (39)
DD [Jordan - named for the river in Israel] (8)

This will be our 2nd cruise. We did the Western last spring break.
We're actually looking forward to having an extra day at sea!

Hi Lisa :wave2:

We are in staterom 6616 deck 6...our last cruise we were in the exact same cabin on the opposite side (6116).

.......we chose this one because it is near the aft stairs (handy for Topsiders and the drinks station) and because this cabin has a solid floor to ceiling partition on the one side (like 6116) thus making it feel slightly more private......but we decided to change to the other side of ship because we'd like to see the quay side when sailing out of PC and hopefully get a view of CC beach this time.

Which room have you chosen, and why did you decide on your particular location, if you don't mind me asking :) ?

Hi ladies! I'm a newbie to the DISboards -- just registered today.

We are booked on this cruise with a small gaggle of family and friends"

Us = Me & My husband and DD4 (ages at time of cruise)
Family = Brother, SIL and their 3 kids - DS9, DD12, DS14
Friends = Adult couple w/ no kids

Looking forward to chatting with everyone for the next 15 months or so! :o)

Hey Judy,
We're in 6578. We were in 6134: CAT 7- port side and LOVED the "semi-private" secret verandah for our last cruise . We wanted 6634 this go around - also so we could see Castaway Cay from a different angle :goodvibes (We thoroughly enjoyed our stateroom on port side as we are avid boaters and watching all the people and docking procedures was really cool.)
anyhow, we did have a great location by the "secret" aft stairs and loved sneaking up to topsiders/drinkstation in our jammies and baseball caps for morning coffee. But this time, we're trying out forward/midship area- closer to the kids club, theater, and other activities. Also, those thrusters at early o'clock on debarkation morning really sucked the wind out of our sails;)

Hi myneverland!
:welcome: to the DIS and our cruise thread.:wizard:

Hi myneverland!
:welcome: to the DIS and our cruise thread.:wizard:

Would love to stay up on deck 7 near the secret deck, but there are no cat.6 staterooms up there ....I don't think I can justify spending anymore on this cruise (lol) !

Hey Judy and Lisa:

I've been emersing myself in the DISboards to learn what's the best way to cruise disney. My husband and I did a Disney cruise for our honeymoon in May 2001, but everyone else in are party are new to DCL -- but all huge Disney fans!!!!

Do you ladies participate in the fish extender programs? Do you do door signs?

I'm assuming it's a bit early to look at excursion stuff. Is there a possiblity that much of that stuff will change before 2010? Or would it pretty much be the same?

Stephanie

Stephanie,

I was so busy before our last cruise, I didn't have much time to plan/participate in a fish extender swap - but I'm sure as our thread picks up more momentum closer to the cruise, there will be plenty of fellow cruisers interested in getting one together.

As far as excursions go, I don't think it's ever too early to start researching them. I'm already looking at what's to do on St. Thomas/St. John and
St. Maarten.

Judy-
our cabins are pretty close to each other. Maybe we'll bump into each other on morning coffee runs- although this time, I think I'll be doing the coffee carafe through room service at night so that's it's warm and waiting for us in the a.m.

We normally order hot water from Room Service in the morning - I just HAVE to have my British cuppa (yes, the tea bags come with us over to Florida) lol !!! :surfweb:

Unfortunately I've never been organised enough to participate in the FE program - especially since we normally have week in Florida first (plus we had a wedding to organise last trip !).

Some very kind folk off our last trip made me some cruise/wedding door signs.....I still have them on my fridge at home infact !...not very clued up about how to make them myself though ! :guilty:

As for the excursions, I suspect they will be pretty much the same ones that have been organised by DCL before - though we are likely to do our own thing and/or private tours.......but we are generally looking forward to just having more laid back beach time on the islands next trip - the Western we did earlier this year was a bit hectic to say the least !

We snagged one of the secret verandah Cat 7s!!
I've been checking the website periodically and was inclined to check tonight and when I put the stateroom number in, it came up as available, so I called DCL and saved us $300.
new stateroom # is 6634 - the one we originally wanted!!:woohoo: We liked being close to that secret staircase to Topsiders when we had 6134 for our Western last April and really loved that cozy but open feeling. Looking forward to being on the starboard side this time!

Yay !!! that's great news .........well done you !! :cheer2: ......

......that's just down the corridor from us now !

.....looks like we have both swapped sides of the ship for our next cruise :goodvibes

Do you have your cabin number Lisa ?

yeah, it's 6634, the one we originally wanted

you have no idea what it took to get it:

I had the inkling to check the DCL site and saw that it was available, so i grabbed it. Then, I dialed DCL and was on hold for a few minutes. Unfortunately, I had to take DD to my mom's house for a sleepover, so I left DH with the phone and explicit instructions to take that room and that room only. While I was getting my coat, I hear him finally speaking to Hecotr, who tells him that he can't see that cabin as being available. I tell him that's because we're holding it. He tells DH to release it, so we close the window and I leave for mom's while DH is still on the phone.
FF to 15 minutes later when I arrive at Mom's and call DH to see how everything went and what the final price was.
He says, "They couldn't get that cabin, so he gave us 6636, right next door for the same price.":scared1: My heart dropped. Of course it's the same price, that's a true Cat 7!!! So now we've lost the cool cabin we had and didn't even get the one we wanted:headache:
"So maybe you should call him back then."
GRRR:mad:
I call back and after a minute on hold I get Hector - well at least I don't have to explain the whole scenario to him...
He says that sometimes it takes 15-20 minutes for a cabin to show up as available again, so he and his supervisor are keeping an eye out for when that happens. He then starts to tell me that the other cabin we have is the same. Ummm, No. The other is a true navigator's verandah and this one is special. "No," he says, "that would be a Cat 6." Yes I know, it should be a Cat 6, but it's listed as a Cat 7. We dance around on this issue for a minute or two and he finally asks if he can out me on hold. Sure.
After almost three minutes on hold he comes back and says, "We Got The Room!" YAY Hector!:cheer2:
I didn't even bother to go over the price or anything, figured DH had those numbers. But yeah, we got the room we originally wanted and the price isn't :scared: It's not spring break, but that's okay - we just won't have to wait as long for it to arrive!
