Me - 38 (14th trip to WDW in 14 years)
Wife - 38 ((14th trip to WDW in 14 years)
Daughter - 9 (10th trip to WDW in 9 years)
Daughter - 3 (4th trip to WDW in 3 years)
Hotel - Beach Club
Dates - Feb 11th - 19th
Before I start on day 2 I forgot to leave out something else we did the 1 night after the MK.
We went to the Xentury City Publix on 192 to get food and drinks for the week.
It was only 5 miles from the Beach Club and much better than Goodings. (BTW, Disney sold CrossRoads shopping center recently and I'm sure it will get worse not better)
We ate breakfast in the room so we could get an early start at Epcot. My parents were flying in and arriving around noon so we wanted to go to Epcot in the morning and come back to meet them at the hotel. They stayed at the BC too. I got them the AP rate with my AP. We went straight to Test Track and the wait was 20 minutes so we decided to get a fast pass and go on Spaceship Earth. We walked on it. We went back and walked on to Test Track. It seemed faster than last year. What a great ride ! We did Mexican and Norway boat rides grabbed lunch outside of Mexico and went back to hotel.
We met my parents and found out the got upgraded to the other corner room in our hall. It wasn't as big as our room but it was a nice room. It had a king bed and 2 balconies as well. Their room was 3683.
It was very hot by noon so we dedided to go in the pool. The BC has the best pool by far. The kids had a great time in the pool. After everyone showered we had dinner reservations at the Flying Fish.
I have always wanted to eat here but never got the chance on previuos trips. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:20. The hostess there was very cold to us. I think because we had 2 kids. She said they didn't start seating until 5:30 and since it's so nice out why don't we sit outside on the bench. While we were waiting outside, about a minute later, a couple came up to the door of the FF and the hostess perked up and opened the door for them and said welcome please come in !
Two more couples arrived and she did the same thing with them.
I wasn't crazy about the decor but we got a nice round table and a good waiter. I couldn't decide between the oak roasted pork or the potato crusted red snapper so me and my dad split our dinners.
The snapper was ok. The pork was better but the portions they give are very small. My mother said the pork looked too rare (I asked for it medium well) but we ate it anyway. My wife got the steak and that was the best meal of all. It was very good.
We should have listened to mom, because me and my father both got sick the next morning. Luckily it didn't last long.
I wouldn't go back to the Flying Fish. I thought the food was good not great, the portions were too small and the prices too high.
After dinner we went to Epcot, walked around some countries and watched Illumintions from the bridge near the international gateway. The show was great then we walked back to our hotel. It's nice to be able to leave Epcot and be back in your room in about 5 minutes.
Day 3 coming next... Animal Kingdom
