I might have been hallucinating, but I swear I heard on CNBC just a little while ago, that Disney has signed a deal with Vanguard. It was a deal that will offer a CGI movie by the end of the year "Valiant", and another next year "spacechimp" . It was also pointed out that they reached this deal with Vanguards John Williams (Shrek) at half the cost and half the time that Pixar was offering (per film that is).

I'll wait for someone else to confirm this, as I was fixing dinner for my kids.

The plot, it seems, thickens!

Yes - Vanguard and Disney have a deal together --

Vanguard Animation signed a four-picture deal with Disney. The first out of the gate is Valiant, which is currently being animated in London. The picture came to Disney with 75 percent of its financing in place through a combination of foreign pre-sales, European tax and co-production monies. From the beginning, Williams announced that the plan was to make CG animated features at under $40 million, compared to the going rate of approximately $1 million per minute, or budgets between $70 and $120 million.

the only thing is that this news was from this past fall. So, I wonder what CNBC was reporting on.
