Feather bed question, probably a dumb one

We were given a feather bed for our bed. I know this goes on top of the matress, but does it go on top of or under the fitted sheet?

Our DD has one on her bed and she has is below the sheet.

Yup between the mattress and the sheet. We also put a mattress cover over ours as it has pokey little feathers in a couple of spots and it also helps to keep it straight.

mines old and VERY pokey (and I have two cats) so I have mine under the matress pad and a fitted sheet. Welcome to the world of confort! I hate sleeping on a fluffless bed (we call them fluffs her in wisconsin)

Well here's another stupid question. doesn't the mattress pad and the sheet on top of the feather bed squish it down? Do they really make your bed more comfortable? I've been debating one for years but like the original poster didn't really know what to do with it and I figured if I put it under the sheet /mattress pad then it would sort of defeat the purpose.

Well alex, your sorta right! I bought a extra deep matress pad so that it can stay high and fluffy. then I put a regular sheet on top. I think it makes a differance. It makes it more fluffy. I do fluff mine once a week but thats because mines older and less full. Personally I would reccomend a fluff to anyone.
