Has anyone else watched this? This has to be one of the best shows on television. It's really not about "food" at all. A brilliant piece of programming.

A mini-marathon tonight? Really? Ooh, I must watch. I've been recording it. Alton is amazing! I love his shows. I love how he is covering things and people that we would never get to see otherwise.

I haven't watched the new episode yet, but DH and I have been thoroughly enjoying watching this series. AB really is brilliant - and incredibly interesting.
I love all of his shows, but this one really is great! What a fun trip!

I really enjoy this show, also! I haven't seen all of them, but have really liked the ones I've seen. I agree that it's not so much about the food, but I like seeing parts of the country that I will probably never see.

dh and i just finished watching the last episode-now we both want to run to the local truck stop and get one of those little cookers for the next long road trip-too cool!

while i would pass on a couple of the items he tried (the brain sandwich in particular) the bulk of the stuff he tried looked awsome-and we found ourselves running to the fridge during every episode ds and dd liked the episode where he tried a bite from every type of pie the one diner offered ('mom can we do that, can we try that?').

i'de like to see him do another series where he travels around-kind of nice to see the local offerings of different regions (and not just the popular or 'must try' places allot of the food network shows seem to feature).

I love Alton Brown and think any show he does is Fabulous, btw did you see him eat the brain sandwhich?

Yes, that was a hoot. Evansville is "right down the road" and I've never heard of a "brain sandwich". I think it's great that he will taste something and say it's bad when it's bad. Unlike Rachel Ray where everything is "yummo".

I had a brain sandwich once about 30 years ago. I worked with a woman who use to love to make them. One day she brought one in for my lunch. It was ok, but not something I am in any hurry to try again. When I was in high school, our local resturant use to serve them. My DB use to live in Evansville, so I will have to ask him if he ever had them. I am sure he tried them at least once.

I have really enjoyed this show. I hope they do another one next summer. He was really looking road weary by the last show.
