Fear the Walking Dead - anyone?

And putting a bloody/brainy rug (or blanket) in there, leaving it hang out for anyone to see the gore.
Really. I mean, I understand that they don't quite understand what's happening, but they have certainly seen enough to be completely freaked out and on high alert by now.

The show has some plot hole...gaping plot holes. And it's slower than a year-old walker. But maybe it'll pick up.

I am enjoying the new show......its like we know where it is going yet they don't..well except for the boy and the older Hispanic guy....they seem to get it.....they are the walking dead. You would figure that after the boyfriend saw that they could not kill the guy with the truck that thinking that they are just "SICK" and can be fixed is to far fetched...I mean he was like....But she's your friend and she's sick so don't hurt her :lmao::lmao:

and all the rioters....they saw people being eaten, and getting up after being shot a kazillion times yet they continued to riot and break into stores as if it was just another day....and another part that made me laugh was as they were driving by the hospital they are in kayos and shooting the dead sick:sick::faint:...and as they slowly drive watching, there is a police officer waving them on slowly as if he was at a school crossing :lmao:

So far however I really like the show and am already hooked.....maybe it is because I know what is coming and they don't....maybe because I like seeing how it was all going down from the very very beginning....Im not a fan of all the characters in this one but Im hoping they will grow on me....maybe Im just spoiled from the characters on TWD.....

I really did like the show last night even with a few of the stupid stuff...but again we get it and these people(the characters not the actors)) are just starting with it...we have been with TWD for a long time...they need time to catch up to us ::yes::::yes::::yes::

looking forward to next week :)

I didn't think there really was a cousin. I thought Daniel made that up so that Travis and Co. would leave them there. He told his wife that he wants to stay there at the house. And the daughter said something about their only family was in El Salvador. So I thought the story about the cousin was all a ruse to get the others to leave them behind.
duh I don't know why I didn't think that!

I think it's just so hard for all of them to mentally process what they are seeing. I mean, really. In a world with no TWD, Zombieland etc...what would YOU think? At the riot by the barber shop, I totally get that 99% of the people didn't see the cop-eat-cop going down. They were too busy doing their thing. And if you did see it, you'd think he was crazy, or you didn't see what you think you saw. Just no way to rationally process it until it will become too overwhelmingly obvious as it goes on.

Yep I totally agree! (Except not closing the doors) LOL

I agree 100%. Most of the complaints are coming from the idea that they should know exactly what is going on. These people have NO concept of Zombies. This is 100% new to them. Still taking out the trash? The guy is in shock! The night before he had been through so much, capped off by watching some crazy dude eat his dog and then get shot and shake it off until the second shot takes the top of his head off. Very very few people are going to be thinking straight after that. Same with the looters. Same with leaving the door open. Same as a number of other things that happened.

Though I will say this... I was yelling at the TV as they were driving off with all the windows of the car wide open. So I can't get to frustrated at others for doing the same. I was like "Do you WANT zombies in your car? Because that is how you get zombies in your car!"

We stopped watching 2 weeks ago - was too slow, and we just couldn't "connect" with that family....

Have they said that in this version of the world that there has never been any zombie mythology in books/tv/movies?

My SIL told me last week that she read the writers are making a separate one-off episode (not series) showing the breakout happening on an airplane. It's supposed to run concurrent with the Fear the Walking Dead timeframe. I suspect the airplane they showed during one of Nick's later scenes near the end of the last episode will be the one in this one-off show. I don't think it's a webisode, the article she read made it sound like it would air on AMC.

Anyone else think this series is progressing pretty quickly? It's supposed to be the "before" stuff leading up to present day in the Walking Dead, right? I feel like it's one episode away from being TWD, already killing zombies and understanding that they're already dead. Military already invading and city already a mess. I expected a slower build, with some isolated incidents, etc. If this were "real" life, I suspect they would have tried to contain it like Ebola, and if/when it did become a national issue, people wouldn't be hiding it from others and not discussing it. Their reactions are weird.

I also read about the airplane episode, and immediately thought that plane in this weeks episode, would be that plane.

Yes, the driving by the hospital slowly...so dumb. And getting out of the city- 1- their truck should have been destroyed like all the other cars in the city and 2- there should have been traffic and roads blocked from all the destruction. Plus, if there are people going around eating other people and the military/police are going around shooting them...folks would all be inside and off the streets not looting and rioting.

I agree with other posters, it is moving fast. It seems like they'd be able to contain it a little at first and folks would all go on lockdown. That's what I'd think would happen. Not full blown zombie infestation in 24 hours.

I think lock down is coming now, I think that's why the military are now there. I agree with a previous poster though, that the rioters aren't paying attention to much, just causing destruction. They think the police are shooting people for no reason, and I don't think there were that many people being eaten that they would even notice while they turnover cars and light things on fire.
But I do not believe for a second his junky truck would have been left untouched.

I'm not giving up on the show, but I don't expect we will see a season 2.

I found it totally unbelievable that their truck was just sitting there untouched as everything else was being destroyed and burned by the rioters. And that they are running to the neighbor's house to get a gun to protect themselves from the things they are seeing outside...and then leaving their door wide open.

Like others have said, I think it is hard for us to go back to what their mindframe must have been like when this whole event started because we know so much more than the characters do. Someone brought up a good point in the comments section on an article I saw on Facebook. In season 2, Hershel thought the walkers were just sick and could be cured, so he was locking them up in the barn. So to me, it's not totally out of the realm of possibility that these people, who are just now being exposed to the situation, still think they can talk to their friends & neighbors who have already become walkers and that they are just sick but can still be reasoned with somehow.

They already greenlit season 2, before they even aired season 1, so they have 15 more episodes after this season to hook us all in :-)

I agree with this. I think most of the people who watch this show are TWD fans. The producers thought this would be cool for viewers to know more than the characters, but I think it is winding up annoying most viewers! LOL!

Yes, they are now in the lockdown. To me, no good comes from that. Look at Atlanta.
