FE thread: Disney Dream, 29th August 2016!

* * * * * ANOTHER FE UPDATE * * * * *

Greetings cruisers! As some of you will already know, I have been doing some more updating and list preparation today, and sent out a few extra PMs to consolidate the information that I have at the moment. Starting next weekend (23rd/24th), I will send out the confirmation PMs, and you will have until 1st August to reply to confirm your participation and that all your information is correct. Yes, the time is almost upon us!!!! :woohoo::thumbsup2

For those who have not hit the magic 10 post count, you have a little bit longer to raise your post count. You can either participate in the greet thread (the other one!) and share your plans for the cruise, or head to the test board to raise your count. You will need access to your PMs in order for me to share the finalised FE list with you. I am tagging those who are almost there in this thread, so you are aware of the situation, and I apologise if I missed anyone! @Laura Elizabeth @nolinmom @annachunt @usmcgirlxo @AJHILL

In the meantime, here is a quick breakdown of the stats as they stand today:

Total Cabins Participating: 14
Total People Participating: 48

People Split
I have further split the youngest children's ages into 0-2 and 3-5, as previously mentioned in discussion. I will be included ages/genders on the final list too just to help out.

Adults: 28
Children: 0-2: 1 child; 3-5: 6 children; 6-12: 11 children; 13-17: 2 children

As you may have seen from the greet thread, we might get another member joining shortly, @lisaabbo . I will update the information to reflect this, as and when the family registered this interest in participation. Hopefully that gives anyone enough information to make some basic judgements on their FE gifts for now. Please feel free to message me if there is anything particular you need to know from families.

I'd love to join the fe group if it's not too late.

This will be our first Disney cruise and I've been reading lots of trip reports with fish extenders mentioned and would really like to participate.

Our details are:

Family name: Heady
Deck: 10
Cabin: 10632
2 adults & 1 child (girl, age 6)

I see that I need to get posting to pm so I'll get onto that now ;) I have lots of questions so I'm sure it won't take long!

Thank you @bellasmummy you have been added to the list. Welcome! I can see you are almost at post count anyway, so that should not be an issue for you. Happy posting!

Thanks for sorting it all out Twilight Terror. I am beyond excited. It is so close now.

No worries @annachunt ! You have also just joined the 10+ post count club! Congratulations! I will be sending out messages this week to make sure all details are correct as we prepare for the FE closing date and releasing the final list!:eek::woohoo::sail:

The first number of your room number is your deck level, so you will be on deck 8 :) We will add you to the FE list, just keep posting!

This is my husband and my honeymoon cruise and is our first cruise together in general. Also, my parents will be joining the cruise but in a different stateroom. We will also be celebrating my husbands (Aug 25) and my dads birthday (Sept 7) on the cruise. I want to surprise my husband and my parents with fish extenders. But I'm not sure how it works. Can someone explain it to me? Thank you.

August 29 2016 Disney Dream cruise 4 day.

My husband and I- stateroom 6072, Jose (Cars) and Krystal (Lion King).

My parents - stateroom 10533, Henry (Peter pan) and Amelia (Minnie mouse)

Congratulations on the honeymoon! I am not sure FEs are something you can necessarily surprise your family with, as the FE program is an exchange of gifts, not just receiving them. Each participating family makes (or buys) small gifts for every other participating family. Some people choose to do family/cabin gifts, others choose to do individual gifts. So if you wanted to surprise your family members, you would need to source gifts on behalf of both cabins. We have a couple of families who are in split cabins and both cabins are participating, but it's not necessary; you and your husband could just participate. Then once on board people hang fish extenders (like travel organisers) outside their doors and the other group members take time out on their cruise to run around the ship and deliver gifts. Some people leave their cabin number on their gifts, others are anonymous.

We are also sharing our FE list via private message, as per the board rules. As a new member to the board you need to have a post count of 10 before private messaging becomes available. The cut off date for participation confirmation is 1st August, so you will need your post count up by then to participate. :)

Hope that helps somewhat. Feel free to ask more questions. Alternatively a quick search of the forums will bring up plenty of FE threads that discuss their origin, purpose and gift ideas.

Thank you for filling me in. Of course I will participate in giving gifts. I was going to get gifts in behalf of my husband and my parents.

How many staterooms do you give gifts to? So I know I many gifts to get.

No problem at all! :thumbsup2 I wonder if anyone will notice you packing excess little gifts?! :rotfl: Don't forget to source your fish extender, so that others can drop off gifts to you. Again, a quick look on Pinterest or a search of the board will give you some cool ideas, ranging from bought solutions (like travel shoe racks) to homemade devices! Also, we have a cruise meet thread where people are discussing their plans and ideas for the cruise. So feel free to pop over there and chat about what you have planned!

The number of cabins and numbers of participants will be confirmed at the beginning of August once all members have replied to their confirmation PM which went out at the weekend, with the exception of any members who have registered their interest but not yet reached 10 posts to be able to confirm their participation via PM. :) If you go to the top of the page, there was an unofficial number given out a while ago, but that does not include anyone who has joined after that post was made.

My husband and I have separate luggages and mine has hidden compartments. I massaged some sellers an etsy about their fish extenders to see if I can receive them in time. Etsy is actually how I learned about fist extenders.

What is the cruise meeting thread link? Do I have to attend that? Attending the meetings will be hard to do. I learned about the forum late. However, the first day of the cruise will be when I tell my parents and my husband give them their fish extenders. I will make sure we have enough gifts and give them out as a family together.

During the holidays, my husband does Halloween Boos to our neighbors and have real fun with those!
