I'm stumped. My upcoming cruise FE group has one family with a 20 month old child. I don't have kids but would like to give the child some small toy! Can any parents out there supply ANY ideas? Hopefully something light weight, small, easy to pack and not too expensive? The gifts I had for the other kids won't work for such a small child! Thank you for any suggestions.

A ball. A thick children's book. A small Disney character plush. Don't know your budget.

Board Books, socks, bath squirters, Little People wheelies car. Are you crafty? You could make a little Mickey tshirt or hairbow. A great place to look is the $ section at Target and toddler toy section at Walmart. They usually have Disney board books or the activity packs. Our son is 2 and our favorite gifts have been a Tshirt, truck, Mickey bib and books.

Probably a no brainer, but just a reminder, kids under 3 should never be given things with small parts they can choke on. For example, if you buy a stuffie, make sure the eyes are sewn, like this:

Not with a small part that could be ripped out.

Our DD was OBSESSED with light up toys at that age. Especially, ones she could push a button and see stuff happen. I think they are called light up spinning wands?

Floating rubber duck type toys. Many of the staterooms have tubs and I'm sure most parents don't pack bath toys for trips. I do like the board book idea as well though.

Besides all the great ideas from PPs...Sippy cup, socks, crayons and coloring book, disposable bib, toothbrush.

A bib would be cute. I really like the idea of a light up spinny thing. Babies are always fascinated with them!!

I found some Disney coloring books in the Target Dollar Spot and gave that along with a small pack of crayons to the under 3 year olds in my last FE group.

I've always given Disney night lights to those with little ones. They've been quite well received :)
This is just my experience, I do not have children.

I'm knitting spa Mickey washcloths (face is knitted into the pattern) for the women and teen girls in my group -- there's a 14-month-old baby in it too, so figuring it would be handy, I knitted him a little washcloth in red with a Mickey face. Thought he might like the color.
