I need ideas for FE gifts for men. I have all the rest of the other family members. Mens stuff is the hardest!!!!! I HAVE NO CRAFTING ABILITY EITHER!!!!!!!

Thanks
Sherry

I had the same problem. We just got home yesterday from our cruises and we gave out 2 mini bottles of rum with a cruise magnet and wine opener. We also received mini bottles of different boozes. One of the gifts we received was a mini bottle of Peach Tea Vodka with a bag of peanuts for our Georgia cruisers. We ended up getting quite a few mini bottles of booze and really liked them!!!

ok, I'm just gonna come straight out and ask.............what is an FE gift

Hi All!

In answer to your question an FE stands for Fish Extender. A Fish Extender is a hanging pocket or pouch (or multiple pockets or pouches for each person in the cabin) which gives other cruisers who you have met on your Cruise Meet thread and who have signed up to be in the FE gift exchange a place to put your goodies :). I hope that helps!

In answer to the OP's question, you might consider movie candy, gum (my DH has a passion for it and it isn't sold on the ships), a mini flashlight (for navigating the cabin when everyone else is asleep), a highlighter for use on the Navigator (99 Cent stores have them cheap and sometimes have them in multi color sets which would allow for a different color for each family member. If you made a label on your computer you could stick it to the barrel of the pen to Disneyfi it.).

You could also consider using Lightscribe or something like it if you have it on your computer or a printable disc if your printer will take one and putting a label on a blank cd for them to use to download their cruise pictures to after the cruise.

Depending upon how much you want to spend, you might also consider seeing if you could give them a certificate good for a drink of the day. I would check with DCL to see if there is a way to do by adding the requisite amount to the shipboard accounts for the different cabins.

It could get pricey if your group is large but it would be easy to do, (all you would need to do is make a certificate or a note and you will already have the cabin numbers involved so that would help) there would be almost nothing to pack, and it wouldn't require more than a few minutes of your time to pull together. In fact you could even contact a DISigner (in the Just for fun thread) to see if they could do a certificate for you and then all you would need to do would be to print them out and write in the name.

I hope these ideas (in addition to the other great ones that preceded mine) help.

Take care all, help lots of people and have a "Wonder"ful day!

Mini key chain led flashlights are always a welcome addition to my keychain. Mini booze bottles don't hurt either! LOL.

I've found you can't go wrong with candy or snacks - We are from Hershey, so we do candy bars, this year I am adding in Lebanon Bologna sticks - maybe something special from your area or state????

Hi Sheb, I bet at the dollar store you could find something like mini flash lights or little tool kits or shoe shine kits.

Duct tape! (You never know.) :lmao:

This is actually not a bad suggestion at all! We received a small sheet of duct tape in one of our FE gifts last week, (thanks to the M.S. family), and used it to anchor our TV on the one sea night when the ship was moving fast over relatively open ocean. The TV kept swinging back and forth while we were watching, so we anchored it to the cabinet above using the duct tape. We left it anchored for the rest of the trip!

We love to give Hershey/Reese products when we need gifts or as a little something extra for room service, etc. Will also be using Seltzer's Lebanon Bologna and a PA Dutch cookbook on a future cruise. We are from Hershey too!!

We did this for our FE gift, in addition to pressed pennies from a carosel for missoula, and pirate tattoos! The green and white things are Montana Chapsticks from our tourism board, and the little animals are water squirters from oriental trading, the pirate paddle ball is from oriental trading, and the keychains are bottle caps, decopaged with tissue paper printed with the Dream script......

I know my husband would prefer something consumable, like candy or booze. Something he wouldn't have to lug back home again.

We did Starbucks via coffee, mini booze, gum and Old Bay seasoning (we're from Baltimore)

don't mean to hijack this thread, but I still don't get the FE thing for adults.....does anyone have any experience with anticipating in a mixed age FE but only giving/getting for kids? Is this do-able?

I am an adult now and can buy my own stuff......instead of trying to spend $5 or $10 in order to get a $5 or $10 gift in return seems, to me (and, obviously, just to me) a waste of time......

On our last cruise we received awesome gifts. We received lots of candy which was great but my hubby loved the small bottle of rum and the surfer shell necklace we received. He wore the necklace almost the entire time. We also received a bottle opener and a koozie. These were all great adult FE gifts.

FE doesn't have to be a $5 gift. FE Is just a fun thing to. Its kind of cool to cone back and find lil trinkets.
