We are going to be at the CSR, 11/03 - 11/12. We paid for a waterview room, and requested the "Cabana", with a corner room. The notes are with customer service, but I'm wondering if faxing the resort two days before our arrival will make a difference whether or not that these requests will be granted.

Any opinions?

Thank you

Some of yhe WDW unofficial sites recommend faxing 30 days prior, with 3 or 4 requests. We did this and got the absolute perfecty room at Pop. They gave us just what we asked for! Lucky us.! Have a ressie at okw for feb and the dvc member we booked through got our requests when we booked- nearly 6 months in advance. Check out the guidebooks, they outline the rooms and buildings of most resorts and shoould help guide you.

Requests at DVC resorts (just like all WDW resorts) are just that, requests. Until you check in, you won't know whether or not you got your requests.

The best way to let someone know your requests is to have it on your reservation. Don't bother with faxing requests. Most of them just go into the trash anyway.

I have to repectfully disagree about the faxes going into the trash. When we checked in they had clearly recieved oour request and did a super job for us. We had exactly the room we requested on first floor, overlooking the pool, close to the main building. Our current reservation at OKW does have our request in our reservation which was made at the time we reserved it. We certainly do not feel entitled, but do hope to have luck again. Clearly our requests are based on availability but many folks do not go to the degree some of us do to get things as magical as possible! I say, fax, regardless, you just never know! It certainly won't hurt!

DVC specifically put a notice up on the member website not to fax or call requests, all requests should be on the reservation.

That's great to know Debbie- thanks for that info, but OP says their ressie is for CSR, so I was specifically speaking about the resorts. We made our requests at the time of our reservation with OKW, and thus will not feel the need to fax. But again, thanks for the info, as I am not a DVC member and not up on all the details, but may be soon!

Most of the resorts are ignoring the faxes. Just add the requests to your reservation and then there is no need to fax.

I have yet to fax a request to any resort and I have always gotten pretty much what I wanted. I put my request in when I make the reservation. And then leave it at that. It is also my understanding that the room assigners are no longer looking at faxed requests. Since the guidebooks started suggesting the people do that, the assigners got swamped with 'paper'!!! So they just don't look at them anymore. THey go with what you have previously requested.
