Faxing room requests?

Does it still work to fax your room requests in a few days before you arrive?

If so do I address it to the Room Controller or someone else and how many days before (3 or 4).

A lot of recent posts have stated that some of the resorts are no longer accepting or reading the fax's. I'd recommend that if you want to make a request, call and have it noted on your reservation. Also, when you check in, you can ask the CM if your requests can be met.

I tried faxing twice and never got what I wanted or even close. But whenever I have it noted on my reservations, I almost always get everything. No more faxing for me.

My experience has been the exact opposite of n2mm's. The only time we faxed was last January at Pop. We didn't ask for much, just non-smoking 4th flr 50's. Our requests were met.
Every other time I've made requests with CRO and we never get what we asked for. We've always gotten non-smoking, but as far as bldg or floor requests, no.

Do you think that it's over kill to both fax and call? Wouldn't want to do anything to annoy the room controller people ( ) so that they might not want to give me my requests. We will be staying at AKL and will fax and/or call for certain savanah/ floor.

I faxed my request to the Poly on Friday for a Tuesday arrival. When I arrived I was told the room that was blacked out for me was not ready. They would put me another room if I wanted. I decided to stick to the one that the room assignors had blacked out for me. Boy am I glad! They gave me all my requests and our room was wonderful. I couldn't have been happier with the room assignor service. PS my fax was chatty and I made sure to mention I understood if nothing could be done. I also made sure to thank them ahead of time for anything they could do for me. I just faxed them a thank you note also - hey I want to go back soon and you have to stay on the good side of these people!

we've had pretty good success at the Poly during our last three trips. Just got a fax back from the CSR and they indicated that they'll try....

I think you are better off calling central reservations and having your requests noted in your reservation.

I am sure the room assigners have seen it all when it comes to faxes.

By just sending a fax you have to hope that they match up your requests with your reservation. You can also ask at check in with any requests. They are usually very good at helping to make it a great vacation.
