Faxing Room Requests?

Do WDW consider room fax requests?

I have booked via a travel agent to stay at CBR in Feb next year - making no specific room type requests at the time of booking. But about a week before arriving from England I thought I would fax the hotel direct with a room/island preference if available.

Has anyone else done this? Were you successful?

I always send a politely worded fax about 4-5 days prior to my arrival. I state my hopes in order of preference and make it friendly and respectful. We visit WDW 3 times per year and I have gotten at least the first if not first and second request most of the time. The only resort I have consistantly not gotten any requests is CBR - we don't choose that resort anymore. (thats just one of the reasons btw).

For example our last stay was at CR and I requested, non smoking in the north wing and ground floor. We got all three yippee! Another time I was traveling alone with my two preschool girls to CBR and I requested, non-smoking, close to the food court and or 1st floor. I put a note that if the buildings close to the food court were not available then being close to a bus stop would really help. We got a 2nd floor room in the middle of no where!! NO SUCH LUCK.... this happened every time at CBR.

That said, the Poly, BC, CR, ASMu and CSR have all been able to assign me a room that met most of my requests (hopes!).
