Do Disney resorts still accept room request by fax?
Though I’ve done this in the past, it’s been awhile.
Staying in WL next month.

Just wondering in 2024 if faxing is out of date.

We have not been told that FAXes have been discontinued. I still have a FAX number on the Pop thread.

Word on here is that faxes go straight in the trash. If you go to disneyworld.com, look for your resort and look at the Overview page for your resort, you will see that they no longer list a fax number.

You can call 407-W-DISNEY and give them your request.

Then call back a few days later and have them read it back to you, to make sure it was entered correctly.

Some people pay to get a subscription at TouringPlans.com which can put in a room request for you.

I think it probably depends on a lot of factors such as what and how you ask, and who receives the fax and what kind of mood they're in that day, etc..

We had a recent fax honored. I had asked to be “somewhere near” my DD’s room in a very large resort. They put us in rooms next to each other - nice surprise at check in. I wouldn’t say it was a fluke, either, since we had completely separate reservations from an outside vendor through which we had no requests.

I’ve also had faxes ignored, too. So it may just be luck of the draw. It can’t hurt to send one, but keep expectations relatively low, and use other methods to log requests if you can.

I always send my room requests through them, and a few years ago they stopped using faxes and switched to emails. iirc they have direct addresses for the resorts.

@kylenne you are 100% Correct and have great memory.

TouringPlans (TP) switched to email in August of 2019. Disney asked them to switch to email and they were given a specific email address to use.

We were able to do a request through the chat on the WDW website. It was quick and easy.

I always call and have my request noted in my reservation. As mentioned above, I generally do a call back or online message to see if it was added. I have a TP subscription but have never used the room request feature. I was planning to try this trip but I switched to the Dolphin.

Did you call to verify that your reservation had your requests? I have read a many posts that mentioned people using the chat feature and was disappointed. Personally, I find WDW chat a big waste of time.

Yup, never had a problem with it. The key is making sure the chat leads to the external request form that they send you.

Same last name? I’ve traveled with fam before, made no requests in advance and been put by each other.

We traveled several times with family, same last name. Don't remember if I made requests or not. Once we were exactly across the hall and once exactly over each other. We joked sending stuff up and down by shoe strings and popcorn buckets.

We did a split stay 2 years ago and were traveling with my brother's family. Both of us turned in room requests to be near eachother. We were at complete opposite ends of AKL, then at opposite ends of different buildings at the Poly. :headache:

What do you mean you turned in requests? Did you use TP or direct with Disney. If Disney did you have your reservation numbers linked in the reservation system by have the CM add a traveling with and provide the other reservation number?
