Looking for the latest feedback on whether or not it still pays to fax any room request to the resort about a week before check in. If you have booked through Triple AAA how do you reference your reservation with WDW? I'm guessing through your last name.:confused3

I faxed a request but also had it on my reservation. I actually faxed it once at 7 days before and again at 4 days before. An old Disney pro swears by this method.

Don't know if it will work but a friend of mine who has visited Disney resorts 17 times and always makes requests right down to the room number he wants has never been disappointed. Now his family usually stay at the Yacht Club , so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Leaving Thursday morning for 11 days at CBR so i'll let everyone know when I return if the fax mad a difference.

DVC resorts don't accept any faxes. They just toss them out.

Please do I leave for CBR in 17 days and I would love to know if this helped the cause. I want a corner room in Aruba. Have fun!

It's has not worked for anyone I know. I think it backfired in some cases, they ended up with the worst rooms. I actually think just putting requests on the reservation has worked best.

I know that the consensus from some Cms that frequent the boards is that a lot of the time the cms pitch them in the trash and don't look at them. The resorts get inundated with fax after fax of requests.I would have the AAA TA simply note your requests with disney.

Or not.

I don't think it ever did. They finally admitted that they toss them out.

I've never requested anything I didn't pay for and have always had really good luck. The worst view I ever had was of a courtyard at the CBR...and it wasn't ugly.

Good luck, whatever you do!

There is no way to know for sure if any one request way works over another. If you make a room request and don't get it, it could mean there were none or they didn't read the request.

IMO, there is no way a fax can work against you. I think anything other than just putting the request in your reservation is purely superstition, like rubbing a rabbits foot or wearing a lucky shirt.

If you like, just call the resort a couple days ahead and see if the request is on your reservation.

I used to add requests to my ressie and got what I wanted at ASSp, BC and WL, but not at CBR or CR, although at both of those places they did switch my room when I asked if anything was available in my preferred areas. Ever since I found out about faxing, I have faxed requests to CBR and POP and have always gotten what I wanted. Will be going to CSR next month and plan to fax a request for Casitas 4. Will see what happens there.

I have faxed, noted it on original ressie, called the resort to add requests...never have I gotten any of my requests..I just roll with it

I know this time I was asked by the disney reservations CM if I had any special requests and he made great recommendations based on what I told him we liked. I have to hope that if they ask if you want to request anything special (with no guarantees of course) that someone must take it into consideration :confused3

We stayed at the WL 9/4 to 9/8. I faxed a request for an open balcony with a pool view. Also, made a verbal request when I booked the reservation. We arrived around 11:00 and the room was ready but it was on the side facing the MK with a closed balcony. I asked to be changed to a different room with a open balcony and a pool view. The CM asked me if I wanted to pay additional for a pool view. I said no. In the past, I did not make any request and booked a standard view and received a pool/courtyard view. This time I booked a woods view and that's exactly what I got. Even though it was quite evident that they were not booked up and a lot of empty rooms on that side of the resort. I will pay for exactly the view that I want from now on. The crowds were very light at the parks. We were the only two people on the bus Saturday night returning from MK back to WL at closing. All the other buses were packed.
