Is faxing additional room requests a waste of time now. I have heard that if the info is not on your original request then faxing wiil do no good. As they do not review the faxes anymore. Is this true?

:wave2: Every trip we've taken to WDW I've sent a faxed request to the resort and have ALWAYS gotten what I wanted.

I usually fax the resort 10 days out from us checking in. I don't get too demanding with my request. For instance, my daughter is hearing impaired and loves to watch Wishes from the rooms we stay in since watching them at the park is too intense with her hearing aids. So, our rooms at Poly, Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge have all had views of Wishes.

I think you need to be really nice in your letter like "can you help us" or "if you could assist us in any way" and that helps alot.

I think when people are like "we WANT a great view, 3rd floor, room such-and-such, non-smoking, and a not so far walk to the lobby" tends to put the room assignors off!

Good luck, and like I said, it has always worked for me.

Most of the resorts are ignoring the faxes now. If you have your requests noted in your reservation that is all you have to do. You can always ask at check in if your requests haven't been granted.

I agree that most (if not all) of the Disney resorts are not accepting fax requests. From what I have read the resorts were getting overwhelmed with faxes so deciced to ignore them.
As safetymom said, if your requests are on your confirmation you are all set. The Cast Member handling the room assignments will get this information from their computer system.
