Helllloooo Happy Campers!

Can someone please tell me the fax # to the Fort.

I would like to submit my preferences :) FW site only displays their phone #.

Thank you.

. . . . . . fax # to the Fort . . . I would like to submit my preferences . . .

1) Please be aware that we throw away virtually all faxed requests.
2) It got to the point
. . . where is was just too much to read all of them
. . . that people wanted so many items per fax
. . . requests would conflict with computerized scheduling
. . . that CM's were too busy reading and didn't have enough time to do their regular job

Thank you!

Fax is: 407-824-3508

Well I already did my request letter last night and I give it a try anyway. I left it short and sweet and what ever will be will be.

I used online check-in last when we stay at the Fort in October. I know it may not always work, but the spot I was assigned was exactly what I requested. I had reserved a preferred spot. I requested loop 100 and close to transportation. We were assigned a spot in loop 100 right across the path to the trading post and the boat dock. I also used online check-in a few years ago at POFQ. I requested close to transportation and ground floor. Our room was on the ground floor and I could see the back of the bus stop from our door. So far I have had great luck with checking in online.

1) Have to remember that assignments are made first by computer.
2) Requests on the ressie get a good chance at being honored, if simple.
3) Assignmentsw are made even before the local resort people see the reservation, let alone requests.
4) These come down 4-days prior to check-in, regardless of resort.
5) The resort "BACKROOM" only makes changes that didn't fit via computer. *

* Think of the ressie system as a Giant Rubik's Cube. Not everything fits the
first time through. Those "left-overs" are then squeezed/massaged by the staff
in the BACKROOM, usually during 2nd or 3rd shift. There is one person on each
of those shifts who does this assigning. Yes, there is a BACKROOM person on 1st
shift, but they have many other duties, and do little assigning. This is why most
resorts now just toss any faxed request. They don't have time to read requests
then take the time to try to fit them in. Can you imagine if there were 100 faxes?

Given what Scupper says about the mechanization used in the pre-assignment process, I'll point back to the thread I started from November about requesting loops and preferences with "My Disney Experience" (MDE).

MDE has the "early checkin" option that shows up in MDE about 60 days before arrival. You can request specific loops and other preferences as shown in the linked thread.

Yes thanks! I did the online check in and was able to select (check) two preferences. There were no option for additional comments. I do however have two large tents that might not fit all tent pads and was given advise by members here (i think you) to submit a fax with my tent sizes a week before arrival.

It was me who suggested putting a note on your reservation about your 2 tents and their large sizes. But I advise calling the reservation number and having it noted on the reservation. I hope the fax method works and you get the site size you need.

It is true that in your case you passed on info that the MDE method had no way to convey.
