Fax # for room controller at YC

You will get a better response to your requests by having them added to your reservation by contacting CRO. Room assigners have been over run with faxes and instructed to use the requests only noted on the actual reservation.

I would fax, Delux Resorts have dedicated Room Assigners. Also you have another option, at check in.
Telephone: (407) 934-7000†
Fax: (407) 934-3450†

According to friends that work at the deluxe resorts the faxes are not even given to the room assigners anymore due to the new policy and end up as trash or shredded.

Call CRO and have them note your request and ask again at check in.

This thread was brought to my attention by some Diser's that know that I am a room assigner at a Deluxe resort...

It really bothers me when people tell you not to fax...the room assigners are overwhelmed with faxes... that is pure garbage. That is their job, to ROOM ASSIGN. That is all I do for 8 hours a day 5 days a week, fill room requests. It helps to have your request on the reservation as well, but you can still fax and/or call and speak to someone directly. It's Disney... the most magical place on earth... it's your vacation make sure it is what you want it to be...

Well said.... Liberty Belle.
I did fax this morning.
This is a very special stay for us and thought what the heck I'm goin for it.
Liberty Belle it would be very interesting for me to hear what you consider a good fax.
What we should and shouldn't say,
Short and sweet or tell every detail of why we are asking for certain things?
Thanks

LibertyBelle I'm so glad you responded to this. I really was not going to bother faxing my requests because I didn't want to overburden the room assigners. I received my final confirmations in the mail and, even though all my requests are there, I'm not too thrilled the way it is stated. I would like to fax requests to make sure it is relayed as to which preferences are more important (I realize they are not guaranteed). We have 3 rooms assigned so I thought I would put all room requests on 1 fax. Does that sound okay? Thank you in advance.

First not all resorts have a "dedicated" room assigner, as Floridacat stated, the Deluxe resorts do, but the moderates tend not to (they still have someone assigning rooms, but that is after all the other operational support work is done.)

As for the fax itself, keep it short and sweet. Make sure you put your requests in the order of importance that way if they can not fill all of them they at least know which to try hardest for. You can write a little telling them why, I personally love the stories about Little Johnny's first trip to Disney or on our honeymoon we had room Whatever and would like it again. Just don't make it a book.

Also keep in mind the best time to fax (or call) is between 5pm and 10pm. The morning room assigner is overwhelmed with check outs and check ins and usually does not have time to even take a break. The night time room assigner is usually really busy up until 4pm (when all the rooms should be clean and ready) after that they are usually just working on blocking rooms for the next 3 days. With that said remember that the reservations are held in the CRO/WDTC reservation system until about 5 days prior to arrival and the rooms are usually not blocked for requests until 3 days so don't fax to early (it may get lost). Also if you decide to call most resorts now have one central phone center (that is usually answering the calls for 3-4 different resorts) that is not at the resort itself. So unless you know the direct line from previous vists or someone on the boards, you probably are talking to someone that is not even at the hotel.

LibertyBelle..........
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU...........
