Favourite Hotel and Rest Area Stops

We wing it and use coupons...I don't think you can use them on previously reserved room.

We don't have kids, so if we get somewhere and they have no rooms, we drive a little further, that's all. We never reserve ahead of time as we like the freedom to stop when and where we want. We don't like having to somewhere at a certain time.

We stayed in the travellodge in Columbia, SC once. There was a graduation from the nearby military base and everything was full. It was discusting, we never took our shoes off, and when we went down in the morning for breakfast, the elevator opened to two large state troopers and a guy in handcuffs, They said "next elevator please". Apparently they were chasing people around the parking lot with their guns drawn. Not really the hotels fault, but it was a dump. Anyways keep the great suggestions coming.
