(i think Junk Foods is the correct american term)

We're heading to the US this summer and we will be making a grocery stop on route from the airport. Mainly for booze but i also want to try out as many random american snack foods as possible.

SO for those who make the journey fairly regularly, which junk foods are your favourites/must buys?

Im really boring. I just buy Lays and Oreos!

Goldfish crackers - DD loves them. They are small crackers bit like cheddars but fish shaped.

Also like ben and jerry's ice cream - alot cheaper and more flavours - can recommend boston creme pie flavour.

We love all the different Gatorade flavours and colours, dare not look at all the sugar and colour additives but when it's hot and you are dehydrated they are the best thing ever.

Remembered also that you have to try all the Pringles flavours that you can't get at home and the sweeties, especially the tootsie roll lollipops.

Twinkies! Nothing natural in these babies, synthetic cream filling a spongy outer.
There's a joke in Wall-E about one of these lasting through the last days of man on earth. I believe they would too!

Lays Wavy, Mint Oreos (and PB Oreos for DH ) and Ghirardelli chocolate.

We also like to bring home some of the packet cooking mixes that you can't get back here (I particularly love Oven Fry, a spicy coating for pork that you bake in the oven - delicious!)

I always buy Hershey's bars in the states, and I only ever eat waffles over there, delicious!

I prefer to think of them as guilty pleasures

We usually end up with assorted pop tarts (dd loves the apple strudel ones) and sugar free Werthers that come in so many flavours (currently munching my way through a bag of apple ones from last August).

When the children were younger we always ended up with a box or two of mini graham crackers (honey teddy and Dora ones were a particular favourite) and breakfast cereals like Lucky Charms and Fruit Loops.

My absolute favourite though (which I sadly can't bring back) is a Funnel Cake - oh boy, do I dream of those!

If you're staying at a hotell with a fridge, you can get the TG Lee chocolate milk, I love that. Alsto if you have access to a microwave, there's something called hot pockets witch is very nice.

Cheetos- a bit like Watsits.
Funnel Cake- basically a deep fried pancake mixture
Fruit Loops-They're a brightly coloured cereal like Cheerios, don't look very healthy to me.
Peanut Butter Twix. I bring as much home as possible.

Oh my god I could go on forever but funnel cake and cinnamon bagels:hippie::cutie: are my favorites. I also bring back packs of cinnamon chewing gum................get the lovvve of cinnamon.

I bought some Christmas ones, covered in a 'white something' with spongy interiors and synthetic cream filling :sick:

I have a strong constitution and a non-fussy palette but they had to hit the bin. I salute you :worship:

I the second the TG Lee chocolate milk
also love Cheetos and Lays and Aunty Annies Garlic pretzel, although nobody else will like it that you love that pretzel:) very smelly!!!
Cherry diet Pepsi
Charlton Chews

We always stock up on Cheetos and Lays from Publix...popcorn::

Are Cheeto's the crisps advertised with the cheeta? Joe Cheesey

If so i remember them from my childhood here in the UK and seem to remember them being like sub-standard wotsits.

Packet mixes..yes forgot to add that to my list...I alway take ages looking at all the packet mixes and bring stacks home to try. I also bring home a few different boxes of the Ghirardelli Brownie mix's as well...I can't recommend them enough they are so scrummy...
Our love of USA junk food continues for a good few months after we get back:)
