Would like to get one of each for my daughter for Christmas. I would love to hear your suggestions of wedding planners and planning books.

I have seen a number of people who have mentioned Emily Post's book. And I have had the suggestion of the Budget Wedding Planner.

Are there others that I should consider?

Thanks!

I love the Anti-Brides Guide to Wedding Planning. (That might not be the exact title, but if you search for anti-bride it will come up.) It gives a lot of great ideas of ways to do traditional things in new ways :goodvibes

I have to look at what I already have. I know that I picked up five wedding planning books at a Vanity Fair Outlet place. I paid about $20 total for all of them. I can't remember what I got though...

There are so may different options to consider and every bride is different. Some girls are more the computer type and won't necessarily use a binder and simply need a pocket planner, while other girls are more into mementos there are planning books that can be turned into a scrapbook. Maybe instead of looking for a certain author just flip through a few and think about what your daughter may like. Is she more traditional/elegant? girly? crafty? See what ones mimic her style and then see if they have some helpful features like pockets, tabs, etc.

I know the planning book I ended up picking was more simple than others but what I liked about it was the size (it was a lot smaller than the big binders and could fit in my wedding planning bag), it had clear pockets to hold business cards and special papers, and lots of blank pages for me to paste pictures in or take notes. I know it is a pink/orange book and is called something like "simply beautiful wedding planner".

Here are the books that I got from the outlet:

Wedding Goddess: A Divine Guide to Transforming Wedding Stress into Wedding Bliss

Emotionally Engaged: A Bride's Guide to Surviving the "Happiest" Time of Her Life

i do, but i don't: walking down the aisle without losing your mind

Anti-Bride Etiquette Guide: The Rules - and How to Bend Them

and

wedding zen: Calming Wisdom for the Bride

As I said, I got all of these for $20. Pretty cool, huh?

Bridal Bargains, by Denise and Alan Fields. It tells you how to avoid every ripoff and scam, how to get the most bang for your buck, and what you need to get in writing. It saved me $800 on my wedding gown.

Re: the Anti-bride Guide .... I found it to be a fun read but light on real content.... :3dglasses
