I was able to ride the new Despicable Me ride on Thursday, and it was pretty cool!

If I had to rank them:

1. Jurassic Park
2. The Simpsons
3. Despicable Me
4. Transformers
5. Studio Tour (Kong)
6. The Mummy

Was the Despicable Me ride open for a soft opening? Or did you have a special pass to ride it? Also, how long was the wait to ride it? We are thinking of trying it out tomorrow!

They were doing "test" runs all day when I was there on Thursday. Not sure if it's still going on (it should be), but no special pass was needed.

I'd definitely hit that and The Simpsons right away before heading down to the bottom lot. I rode it right around rope drop, and there was only a 5 minute wait. By noon it was about half-an-hour wait, and mid-afternoon it was 40-50 minutes. Second longest wait-time after The Simpsons.

Jurassic Park. However when we were there last week that and The Mummy were the only ones I was able to ride. Since all the others are the 3D type rides and I get really bad motion sickness from those kinds, I wasn't able to go on most of them. If I had realized we probably wouldn't have gone to US.

Even though I generally like the rides at USH, there are just WAY too many of them that use 3D/film/projection effects.

Thanks for the info. We are heading down in a few minutes, and are hoping it will be open. It's my son's 6th birthday today, and he's all about Minions!

We just got back, and rode the Minion ride 3 times...the birthday boy was in heaven! Waits ranged from 5 minutes to 40 minutes depending on the time of day. They are still working on Super Silly Funland, and were testing the ride (with employees) today.

Our favorite ride is Simpsons, followed by Jurrasic Park, then Studio tour (king kong), then Shrek, then Mummy.

They didn't have Despicable me or Transformers when we went.

I agree. Transformers just felt like being jerked from movie screen to movie screen. The projections arent good enough yet to actually make it look real on that scale.

I think one of the major reasons for this is space limitations.

Many of the attractions seem to have to somewhat fit in a "box", so tradition rides are going to be few & far between. Doing a 3d / motion sensor based ride is the easiest.

Jurassic Park is the most traditional ride Even the mummy is short (which is why I think it goes backwards to prolong it)
