Favorite Type of Album?

I was wondering if you would share your favorite types of 12X12 albums? I generally like the quality of CM books, but I am a bit disappointed in the wear of one in particular. I have a page where the staple came out, so I don't know how to fix this . . . I feel like I "lost" 2 pages of hard work and precious memories because it's hanging out of the book.

I like the flexibility of top loading sheets. If the page protector rips I can remove the page and fix - not so with CM.

What do you all use?

I have been buying what looks like 3 ring binders from Michael's. They are 12x12 and I can add as many pages are I can. It is easier for me to add pages and not have the posts in the way.

CM will replace any album you have a problem with call a CM Consultant and she should be able to have it taken care of for you. I love CM it's all I've used the last 9 years I've been scrap booking. When you put a top load album in a book case the dust can get into your pages. That's way CM page protectors slide on from the side, no dust in your albums.

It's just the one page . . . the "staple" that hooks onto the hinge is gone. Any suggestions how to fix this so I don't lose that page?

I think that cardboard edge piece with the staple just slides off - ask your CMC if she can help you fix it

I don't have a consultant, but I will find one. That's a good idea. Maybe it does slide off . . . .

I swear by the CM books. I wouldn't have any other, I have bought others in the past, and they just don't last. Also the companies do not honor their products. I actually sent one back to a company many years ago and never got it back!!! I paid $42.00 for the album and it broke within 5 weeks and they said to return it and they would either fix it or send me a new one. Never heard from them again!!!! I can tell you I never bought anything from that company again!!! I would not recommend them to my worst enemy either!!! Very bad business! Anyway, CM is wonderful and they even have embossing on their albums now to personalize them and make them your own!!!

The easiest fix for a broken staple is to remove the page and put a portrait sleeve in its spot. Then remove the jeeping (had sides) from both the right and left of the page and slip it into the portrait sleeve.
Hope this helps-
:)

So is the jeeping the cardboard sides? If so, what is the best way to remove them? Thanks so much for the info!

That seems pretty clever!

I also only use CM albums; it comes from having my best friend be a consultant for several years. :) She's the one that got me started on scrapbooking.

I like the CM albums too. I do have 2 post bound top loading albums but I am always afraid my DD is going to dump them out by accident. The CM albums I am fine with her looking at. I like that they stand behind their product too.

The easiest way to remove the jeeping would be to take an exacto knife and cutting board. I don't think you can just slide it off. Hope this helps.
:)

I agree with others that I love CM albums and that they stand behind their products. Cutting the jeeping off and putting the page in a portrait sleeve is a great idea. Typically the staples are in really well, I know when I go to make a four page layout and have to take the staples out of two of the pages, I have to work at getting them out. It must have been a fluke with that one.
