Ok...for those who hate the 'stupid fluff' threads...sorry!!
But... I'd like to know, and I'm bored... lol

I'm eating a budget chicken steak meal right now... not too good..lol, but they are generally only $1!

I need to start bringing food to work for lunch instead of spending on eating out so much. What are some good TV dinners?

I will say, Marie Calenders has been my fave by FAR!! I've liked all I have tried, they actually taste like REAL meals :)

I'm not too fond of TV dinners myself as the person above me said they dont taste real good the majority of the time. I've found that Marie Calendars are probably one of the best also Boston Market taste okay.

I like the Marie Calledar's but usually get Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice. The Healthy Choice steam bowls are really good. Just be warned that the Orange Chicken is spicy hot (I wasn't expecting the heat) With Lean Cuisne's there are some I like and some I don't like at all. The sesame chicken is good and so is the chicken alfredo. Most of the healthy brands pizzas are pretty good.

Ds took frozen meals with him to school everyday for the past few months. He liked a brand of chinese food that comes in little chinese take-out containers. (don't have any or I go find out the brand name for you)

I really like the Healthy Choice complete meals. For less than $3 you get an entree, vegetable and a small amount of dessert. I take them for my lunches at work. My favorites are the sweet and sour chicken, bourbon steak tips and lemon pepper fish.

Frozen meals to school? HOw do they get it heated?
hmm..I like spicy, I may have to try it! I"ve just found that the chinese meals never taste decent to me.

And... I"m not a big fan of TV dinners either (Except for the Marie Calenders) thats why I was trying to find some that others liked :)

oh..thought of another I liked. Stouffers, its a potato bake cheddar thing.. small single serving with ham/cheese chunks in a potato.. its Yummy :)

I really like Smart Ones(in the red box). I love the cheddar, broccoli, and potato meal~yummy! I also like the tuna noddle casserole and the pizzas.

An Indian Takeaway: King Prawn Puree Starter, Chicken Ceylon, Mushroom Rice and Sag Panir, rounded off with a glass of red wine

why ya shakin yer head at ME?? lol.. I like fluff threads...another thread said they were stupid..not me :cutie:

or..you are one who hates this one :confused3

and..yes.. $1 budget meals are kinda scarey... but they fill the tummy :upsidedow

oh, he was in a trade school not regular school and they had a microwave in the break room. the chinese ones he had were pretty good, they had lots of sauce in them

I'm a microwave dinner junkie! I try just about every one of them to see how they are. My favorites so far...

Boston Market (also my number one fav that I can no longer find anywhere near me):
Southwest style grilled chicken

Banquet:
Lasagna with meat sauce
Mac and Cheese
Turkey dinner

Marie Callendar's:
Cheesy chicken, broccoli and rice
Herb Roasted Chicken
Chicken and Noodles
Honey Roasted Turkey

Lean Cuisine:
Chicken with Almonds
Cheddar broccoli potatoes
Cheese Ravioli

See..told you I was a microwave meal junkie! :rotfl:

I usually don't do those but if I do..Stouffer's mac and cheese. It's sooo cheesy and so yummy. I like it better baked, and you bake it a bit too long so the edges are brown and crusty. :thumbsup2

lean cuisine Glazed Chicken
stouffers Stuffed Peppers

I usually don't eat tv dinners but I just had a Marie Callendar's fish, rice and broccoli and cheese dinner tonight. It was very good for frozen food. I also like pretty many of the Stauffer's/Lean Cuisine meals.

My kids really like the Hot Pockets. Not the best meal out there but they are good for a quick meal when time is short.

But my all-time favorite frozen meal was the Uncle Ben's Rice Bowls. I don't think they make them anymore  at least They had a spicy Cajun sausage and rice one that was great. It was my go to meal when I didn't feel like cooking.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but did you ever read the nutritionals on frozen dinners? Some of the worst are Marie Calendar....but they are good. That being said try the Peppridge Farm Chicken pie...it is to die for just don't read the nutritionals....although they are better than MC.

One of my favorites is the Kid's Cuisine American Fried Chicken.. However, I take "that" t.v. dinner and basically turn it into my own version of a t.v. dinner (which I do with quite a few t.v. dinners).. It comes with 2 drumsticks - which for me, equals two meals.. So I'll make a pan of mashed potatoes and a veggie (don't like the rest of the stuff that comes with the dinner) and I'll eat one portion that night and make another portion to stick in the freezer for another night..;)

oh..thought of another I liked. Stouffers, its a potato bake cheddar thing.. small single serving with ham/cheese chunks in a potato.. its Yummy :)

There is another one like this that I really like.. I think the potatoes are with bacon and cheese - along with barbecued chicken strips.. I add a veggie and I'm all set! :)

Banquet:
Lasagna with meat sauce This one I can also make into two meals for me - and I also add a vegetable..

Turkey dinner Once in awhile I'll have this.. Otherwise I buy a frozen cooked turkey breast, do like I do for the chicken I mentioned above, (along with making some Stove Top Stuffing) and make several t.v. dinners out of it.. When it's time to eat, I'll also add cranberry sauce..

stouffers Stuffed Peppers
If I get the two-pack of this, again - I get two meals out of it..

I buy all of this stuff on sale - and when only cooking for one (even with adding my own potatoes, vegetables, and other sides) it's pretty cheap eating..:)
