Hi everyone! I hope this is not a repeat post (I did search first) or in the wrong place. We are using our points to stay at the Poly for the first time in August and are so excited! We will only be there for 2 nights before a longer trip at other resorts where extended family will join. The poly nights will be all quiet resort days before the full family chaos begins (though we might throw MNSSHP in depending on dates).

What are your favorite things to do on resort days at the Poly? I did look at the activity calendar for examples and saw they have a lot of fun evening activities. But I’d love to hear from the veterans who have been there! We have two kids ages 6 and 9 at the time of visit. Thanks for any tips or favs you can share!

Hey I'm going in August and staying at POLY as well! :)
My trip is August 3-7.

Personally I love the pool and I especially like Trader Sam's and its kid friendly until 8pm?
You'll want to go early to get in or at least on the waitlist and they'll text you when its time to come back.
The kids would get a kick out of it.
Other than that I like to just hang out in the lobby and take in the atmosphere.

Staying at POLY also gives you easy access to the other monorail resorts which can be nice to explore.

For us, normal resort days @ Poly means lolling around the pool but yes there are tie dye and beading classes that always sound like fun but never get attended on this end 🤭
The kids and I would also hang around the pool all day! My husband’s mortal enemy is the sun so having these as options for pool breaks is great. Thanks!

Awesome! We will be there just a week or so after you. Trader Sam’s looks amazing, thanks!! Have a great trip!

Hanging out at the pool (quiet pool is an option too). Dole Whip (we love the floats)! Tonga Toast for breakfast! Shopping!

Be aware that doors don't always work at villas. We were so frustrated that no matter what, even getting key cards the doors still would not work. If this happens, call from the house phone and have a runner come over to unlock your door. TEST IT while they are there. If you still run into problems, get a key card at the desk. If you still have issues talk to the manager and you will likely be given a comp. We had all these issues which were never resolved despite all the above. I hope you don't have this problem.

We love getting a treat from Pineapple Lanai, walking out on the docks to watch the fireworks at night, and just enjoying the beauty of the resort. We've never been able to snag Trader Sam's but it's definitely on our list to try!

’Ohana, pool, Trader Sam’s, dole whip, fireworks watching over the water, ride the monorail, outdoor movie night, smores making (although I can’t recall if that’s offered at Poly), electrical water pageant, Kona Cafe Tonga toast, trip to Grand Floridian (and potentially 1900 Park Fare) and Contemporary for sightseeing/shopping

The Dole Whip floats are now offered with a Capt. Morgan addition. Might not float the boat of a youngster but can do wonders for others. Yes, s’mores on the beach.

Thanks for the tips! And sorry that happened to you, sounds frustrating!
