Please tell me your favorite things to do at MGM? Planning our first family trip in may with a 5 and 7 year old sons!!

Rock N Roller Coaster
Tower Of Terror ( both might be too much for a 5 year old)
Indiana Jones Stunt Show
Star Tours
Muppet Vision 3D
Who wants to be a millionaire
Little Mermaid
Walt Disney Man and his vision
Lunch at Sci Fi

Star Tours and all the added stuff in the queue (C3P0 & R2D2); Muppet Vision 3-D; the parade; Fantasmic. I would add a definate do for the Sci-Fi Dine In - if your kids are into sci-fi.

They may not know much about the movies depicted, but the Great Movie Ride is a big favorite for my family. So much to look at and the CMs can make it really fun. And my kids think Toy Story Pizza Planet is the greatest thing ever. Finding a table in there can be a real challenge, though. Also another vote for Star Tours. RnR or ToT depend on your kids' courage level...mine would Never have done either of those at that age...DD13 still won't. But I've seen little bitty kids on both! Muppet vision 3D is cool, but our least favorite of the 3D shows around WDW. Enjoy your trip!!!!

Muppets 3 D is our least favorite of the 3D movies also, but it is something that you should do at least once.
I agree with the others.
Fantasmic -- DON'T MISS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Star Tours
Lunch at Sci Fi
The parade
Indiana Jones stunt show
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (really this is more for the adults but lots of fun if you like the show!!!!)
The Great Movie Ride
maybe the Backlot Tour also because of the special effects

I so agree with the previous post. My two daughters LOVE the Great Movie Ride. The last time we were there (they were 7 and 9), they wanted to ride it over and over. When we got home, they would play like they were the tour leader on the ride... :rotfl2:

May 2001-All Star Sports
July 2003-CSR
Nov/Dec 2005-Wilderness Lodge :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

My 7 year old is afraid of the Alien part of that ride. We had a hard time trying to calm her down after it.

The random street performers!!! They are wonderful. Especially the Dept. of Public Works guys. They are a scream :rotfl:

Yes, the Alien part does get a little scary. I cover the youngest DD's eyes.
My girls LOVE The Wizard of Oz part and Mary Poppins part of the Great Movie Ride!!!!!!

For me, Voyage of the Little Mermaid

For 2 little boys, Honey I shrunk The Kids playground, and Pizza Planet (not too different from a Chuck E Cheese)

Getting a picture with Sorceror Mickey. We walked by and no one was in there. My wife thought it was closed and Mickey was doing an event. Walked over and took a picture with no wait. Of course this was the week after labor day. :cool1: :earboy2:

My kids were almost the same age last time at MGM. Our favourites :

1 . Rock'n'Roller Coaster - not for the 5 year old. (My favourite)
2. Tower of Terror - for everyone
3. Fantasmic - not to miss
4. Muppet 3-D - Funny
5. Great Movie Ride
6. Little Mermaid
7. Star Tours
8. Backlot Tour

Some of my favorite things at MGM:

RNR
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Milliionaire
Star Tours

The list from my 7 and 9 year olds
MGM favorites

rnr coaster
tot
star tours
beauty and the beast
fantasmic
muppets
lights, motor action stunt show
indiana jones
parade
backlot tour

#1 place to eat
50s prime time
and Hollywood and Vine
(tied)
#1 counter service
ABC commissary

My kids have done all the rides since they made the height requirements and love both of them. Great movie ride did not scare them either but they are pretty hard to scare with rides!

My favorites at MGM:

Tower of Terror (I agree with boomhauer that it's probably too intense for a child that young)
Beauty and the Beast- Live On Stage
Great Movie Ride
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade

I agree with most things everyone else said, but want to add: Mama Melrose's for fav resturuant and Fantasia Gardens for great photo spot. I love this area and we always get out picture taken there every trip.

Yes, yes! They're great!

The street perfomers are the best. It's not my favorite park, but they make it worth going!
