I am considering a short trip in mid-December this year.
and am really wondering what you like about Disney in December.

Thanks for your input, since it may help me decide!

If you like WDW and Christmas festivities, let's just say that Disney will not disappoint you. There is so much to do during the Christmas season that you can't do any other time of year that it might seem like you're going for the first time.

Here's a great thread to help you...

I could not pick just one thing....it's everything! WDW at the Holidays is completely different. We went for our first tiem during the holidays last Dec and are retruning this Dec. Now we go twice...once for regular WDW and the second trip is in Dec! It is just beautiful, and the weather is perfect too.

Story tellers in EPCOT. we went for the 1st time last year & are booked for this year. I can watch them & the processional over & over (& I am not a religious person) I find the morality of it moving, if not the spiritual aspect.

Yes, my favorite is also Candlelight Processional. I could watch it every night. Hoping to see it 3 of our 7 nights this December. (can't wait for the narrator schedule to come out)

Disney at Christmas is just amazing. I wish it was christmas at disney all year long! :cloud9: The weather is nicer, the decorations are beautiful, people seem to be a bit happier(since they are not dying in 95 degree heat). You really just have to experience it for yourself. It's just so beautiful..my favorite time to go..that is, if you go when there isn't much crowds :crowded: !

I love the cooler weather, the decorations, the holiday music, the shorter lines....I could go on and on. :goodvibes

The decorations over Main St.
The huge Christmas trees & wreaths everywhere.
The holiday music and the Osbourne Lights.

All the Christmas related festivities just make WDW that more magical.

Loved going in Dec. I went last year in December and it was great. Not too hot and even cool on a few nights. Xmas decorations were up and were beautiful. Crowds were minimal. MVMCP was so much fun!!!! We are going back this year Dec 13th- 17th!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

The weather, the Christmas decorations, shows and parades, the extra hours and of course the snow!

take some time to explore the resorts. They are decortated beautiful. If limited on time just try the ones on the monorail line. Easy on and off!!

ENJOY

This will be our first non-December trip in 12 yrs...when we go, we always go the first week of December. It's wonderful then! No crowds to speak of~the decorations are amazing!!! So festive and fun! :) We love MVMCP, the resorts are all decked out (we even "copied" the Yacht Club Christmas tree in our own home with the sailboats/lighthouses/white rope before our girls started begging to put the regular Disney ornaments back on :rotfl: ) I am going to miss the decorations this time.... but on the otherhand, we've never done MNSHHP, so that's something different and exciting for this trip! :) :) :) (I'm also the world's biggest germaphobe and flying to and from Disney during flu season really freaked me out with 2 little ones hence my switch to late Sept :rotfl: )

We went for the first time during the Christmas season last year and LOVED it. We are going back again this year during that time also, just a little later in Dec. We love the weather, much cooler, and we also love to go resort hopping to check out all the decorations. The parks and resorts are all decked out in their Christmas beauty. We loved the MVMCP and are doing that again this year. We also love the Osbourne lights and CP. What a wonderful time to go. Im sure you will love it and will want to go back like we do. Have fun!!

I saw the making of that gingerbread house on TV. It's even more unbelievable when you see the effort they put into it..... adults contorting their bodies to decorate the porch... using a mechanical lift to position the decorator above the roof so he can sprinkle powdered sugar on it, etc. As with everything else Disney, it's over the top!

This past December 2005, was my first December trip. We went the first week and the decorations were up and gorgeous. The weather was beautiful, 70's during the day so shorts and t-shirts, and sweatshirts in the evening. The crowds were low and we were able to do so much even though the parks weren't open as late. There are also sometimes great discounts available too!!! December was nice, and we would definitely do that time of year again!! It was VERY magical!!! :wizard:
